Very light, spacious riverside studio nr Sherborne

Ford Mead Studio ( ‘meadow by the ford’) is a comfortable, spacious apartment on the first floor of a delightful stone barn. A perfect getaway for couples and solo travellers, it can also adapt for a family. The barn is next door to our lovely c.15th Grade II thatched cottage, in the village of Chetnole, with its award-winning pub and c.13th church. You are surrounded by beautiful countryside and next to the cobbled ford that crosses the River Wriggle, with views across fields to the village. The space The studio is light and airy, and has a large open-plan living space with double bed, leather sofa, and dining area with table and chairs. Crisp white bed linen adds a fresh touch. There is a galley kitchen that can be hidden away behind doors when not in use, and a spacious separate family bathroom with bath and shower. The kitchen is suitable for simple cooking, with a two-ring hob, a combination microwave and grill, small fridge/freezer, electric kettle, toaster and cafetière. There is a bucket BBQ available. The studio has central heating throughout, controlled by you. Outside you can relax or BBQ in the apple orchard/vegetable patch by the tree-lined River Wriggle. Why not enjoy breakfast in our Victorian shepherd’s hut? It's yours to use during your stay. If you have children or need room for an extra adult, we are happy to provide one or two airbed mattresses, or a full double mattress on the floor for a small extra charge. Due to the steps and proximity to the river the studio may not be suitable for small children, but do feel free to contact us with any questions. Please note that access to the studio is via an external staircase. There is free off-road parking in our gated driveway. We have an mains power lead and adapter that guests have used to charge their electric vehicles. Guest access You'll have the whole studio to yourself, though we are usually at home next door should you need anything.
