..live like the locals - Lofoten

In the middle of the Lofoten Islands. 50 meters from the sea, overlooking Gimsøystrumen. Live like the locals without being in the middle of the mass tourism, but still living very sentral and being able to visit the rest of Lofoten with Gimsøy as your base. Free wifi, hasselfree access to the fully equipped houlse house with flexible arrival (keybox). Two beds for infants, fully equipped. Bring your own toiletries and you are good to go. The space Gimsøy is located in the middle of Lofoten, with the see going in the North/South direction. About 25 km from Svolvær and 40 from Leknes. The home is about 2 km from Gimsøystraumen bridge, located just a few meters from the sea. The house is where I, my father and his father grew up. It was built around 1880. The main reasons for renting is to give visitors a cheaper alternative to the more expensive lodges and hotels, and to be able to (afford to) maintain and take care of my childhood home. The last years the house is renovated (complete outside with new windows, doors etc). and there has been a lot done inside also. Please check the pictures that I hope give a fair impression on what to expect. Some parts are fully renovated, and some parts are next on the list. _____ Go hiking, fish from the shore (cod, makrell etc) or climb the mountains. If you visit Barstrandvannet you can get crout. Go golfing at the famous and award winning Lofoten Links, just about 10 km from the house. Shop at the local store about 5-6 km away (north) Guest access Access to the whole house, with aircondition, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, free wifi etc. Smoking not allowed. Small pets allowed, big dogs not. You can also charge your car from a standard socket. If you want to use my charger, remember to let me know so I can activate it during your stay. WIFI - 100+mbs (you will find the access info at arrival). Television in three bedrooms (with Netflix, MAX, Disney, Prime + Chromecast) Other things to note I will send you a "how to" with tips and info before your arrival; but in short: Please bring your own personal hygiene articles (like soap, shampoo, toothpaste etc). -- There is a fireplace, but firewood is not included. But please bring/buy your own if you want to - can be bought both in regular stores and other places. -- Some times new guests arrive the same afternoon as you leave. Then it is important to have checked out according to the house rules. Not for my convenience, but for the guests that arrive in the afternoon (I need time to prepare).. And if its possible; please let me know if you plan to arrive late :) -- In the winter there might be snow; the snow is cleared at arrival, but you might need to clear some yourself if it snows when you are there. -- Be aware that one bed is slightly shorter than a standard bed. I guess it is about 190 cm long. -- Please let me know if you need me to prepare beds and bed linens for infants (there are two beds/sets available).
