Description
Bright upstairs room - double bed and countryside views with tea/coffee making facilities. Downstairs bathroom. Garden views to Swanage and the Isle of Wight. Off street parking. A warm welcome to all visitors; ideal for coastal walks (a short walk from South West Coast Path/Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site), Corfe Castle, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, sandy Studland beach, RSPB Arne and Brownsea island. Great base for local historical, cultural and musical events. Guided walks on request. The space This listing is for a double room in our lovely, rural, remote and peaceful house in Purbeck. The bedroom has a small double bed with quality linen, free WiFi and a TV with freeview. The room also has hanging space, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps, and a desk and chair. An extra day bed can be used within the double booking to accommodate 3 people in this room for an additional charge per night. Free tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the room. Please note that the bedroom is upstairs and the shared bathroom and toilet are downstairs via a single flight of well-lit stairs. The property is a detached house at the top of a narrow lane with plenty of parking space on our driveway. Guest access Parts of the house other than bedroom and bathroom are not accessible, but guests are welcome to enjoy the large, east facing garden, with spectacular views to Swanage and the Isle of Wight, and to use bar b q/fire pit upon request. We can provide walkers and cyclists with outside muddy boot and bicycle washing facilities and a secure outbuilding and lock up for bicycles. During your stay Friendly and knowledgeable hosts - we have lived in Purbeck for over 20 years and can give plenty of advice on walking, mountain biking and climbing locally. We can also suggest the best places for bird watching, dog walking and fossil hunting, popular local events, quiet beaches and good pubs! Equally we are very happy to remain in the background if you prefer to do your own thing. Barry is available, by prior arrangement, to lead walks from £40 per person per day. The walks draw on Barry's in-depth local knowledge, his passion for Geology and History and the local wildlife. Walks can be tailored to suit your own interests and abilities and will all include an opportunity to stop at a local cafe or pub. The walks will often go well off the beaten track to little-known places rich in stories, fossils and wildlife. Book this via AirBnB Experiences! Other things to note There is a small, unfenced pond in the garden and usually some free-range chickens wandering around. We have a very friendly and welcoming dog who lives with us, and has access to the downstairs rooms. We discourage eating in the bedrooms; the nearest place to get a meal is a 20 minute walk into the local pub in Langton Matravers, although there are plenty of other cafes/restaurants/pubs etc a short drive away. The nearest small garage grocery shop is about a mile away.
