Description
In the North Devon village of Bradworthy is cosy Nuthatch cottage. This romantic cottage has a ground floor king bedroom. Separate bathroom with shower over bath. Open plan beamed sitting room/dining/kitchen room with flat screen digital TV and dvd player. Private terrace onto an acre garden, with a 25 acres of meadow with lakes just over the lane. A 10min walk to a great local pub and a 20 minute drive to amazing beaches, Bude and Bideford. The space Nuthatch Cottage is part of a 300 year old cob barn and it is named after the pair of nuthatches which breed in the garden every year and can be seen on the bird table on the private terrace. The cottage can sleep two people and there is room in the king bedroom for a cot or z-bed too. The upside down layout means that the bedroom and bathroom are downstairs. Upstairs is an open-plan sitting/dining room and kitchen. There is a flat screen TV with DVD & CD player and lots of books, guest information and games. The French doors open from the lounge/dining room onto a private terrace with the south-facing gardens and tennis court beyond. The cottage is centrally heated in the cooler months making it cosy all year round. There is private off-road parking right outside the cottage in a flower-filled courtyard. Over the road are 25 acres of meadow, two hidden lakes, one for fishing and a secret cabin. This is a great location for families/groups who love the great outdoors. As well as our own facilities (mentioned above), the best of the South West’s beaches are within 8 miles. The coast path, running the entire way around the south west peninsula is within 7 miles and offers spectacular walking. The Tamar Lakes are 3 miles away with kayaking, wind surfing and bird watching. The Tarka Trail, an off-road cycle track, is 7 miles away. The village of Bradworthy is less than half a mile away and has a pub (child and dog friendly) serving food everyday, a tea room and several shops. The hidden lakes offer total tranquility and a haven for wildlife including kingfishers, otters, buzzards, deer, and in summer beautiful dragonflies. The lakes can be fished for golden rudd, tench and orff. Just 8 miles away is Sandymouth the most stunning all year round dog friendly beach, at low tide great for walking, surfing and body boarding. We are a great place to stay if you want to walk the south west coastal path.
