Life around 1900 in a historic villa

After 4 years of renovation work, we were finally able to open our small guesthouse "Villa Uhlenhorst" at Easter 2014. In the short time we have already earned a pretty good reputation, and now we would like to present ourselves on Airbnb. The villa has been rebuilt and furnished as faithfully as possible. The guest should feel like they did at the turn of the century. The villa is completely antique, the light switches are for turning, the toilet tank hangs under the ceiling in some rooms, and breakfast is served on historic porcelain with a pretty coffee pot on a warmer. We would also like to convey the other values of the time. That means there is NO TV in the room, but there are books. In the breakfast room there are many board games, a piano, a violin, etc. that can also be used. The villa is beautifully located in a natural large park with old trees and pond. There you sit on historic garden furniture in the middle of a flower meadow while the butterflies and birds keep you company. Our rooms have names such as "Heinrich Heine", "Goethe", "Erfinder Heißdampf Schmidt", "Caspar David Friedrich", "Märchen und Sagen" or "Rose". The people are all connected to the Harz. They were traveling in our beautiful area at the time, which is why I chose them as the namesake. The 3 rooms on the ground floor have bunk beds in the bathrooms, which is why these rooms can be occupied by up to 4 people. Since there are no televisions (only in an emergency can one be booked at an additional cost), we have decided to offer at least Wi-Fi. This can be used free of charge throughout the house, partly also in the garden or on the terrace. Toddlers up to 3 years of age can stay for free in our extra bed (maximum one child per room). One night only bookings are NOT possible! Breakfast is included in room price. Likewise, the use of our parking lot. Guest access Our garden, terrace or breakfast room can be used by guests. During your stay Since I live in the villa myself, I am usually on site. Then I like to provide information about excursion destinations, bus or train connections, recommended restaurants - or sometimes it also happens that you have a game evening or maybe a hike or excursion with guests (my partner is a native of Wernigerode and knows every smallest path in the Harz - even with a mountain bike). But something like that would be very spontaneous if it is possible in time. Other things to note Tourists are subject to a visitor's tax in Wernigerode. This costs 2.80 euros per person per day. For this you can use all buses for FREE (almost all over the Harz - and of course our city buses). So you are quite mobile even without a car!
