Our small, well appointed two bedroom house offers stunning views of the mountains and a taste of real life in a Tuscan hill town. The house dating back centuries - is made of stone. It is two levels, with the entry, kitchen, dining room and outdoor courtyard on the first level, and the bedrooms, living room and bath rooms on the second floor. The two bedrooms are nicely appointed - one master with a queen and the second bedroom has two twins. There is one shared bathroom, with a shower/bath. Great for cooks, with a outdoor wood burning pizza oven, indoor Tuscan grill. The town of Sommocolonia is quiet and peaceful. There are no services in Sommocolonia - nearby Barga (a 10 minute beautiful drive down the chestnut covered hillside) is where you will do your shopping, go to the cafes and restaurants. The Garfagnana is perfect for hikers and bikers - the Garfagnana contains one of Italy's largest national parks - many trails await you. Lucia (45 minutes), Pisa (75 minutes) and Florence (90 minutes) easily doable for day trips. A rental car is required as their is not public transportation in Sommocolonia. 4 day minimum rental.
