Description
A character house in the heart of historic Parnell. Walk to local cafe, Parnell Village, Auckland Museum and Domain. Close to Spark Arena, Auckland Art Gallery and CBD. This charming two-story cottage with private parking is a welcoming home, creative space and retreat for people from all over the world - designers, film makers, artists, writers and entrepreneurs. Near specialist stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, galleries and farmers market. Central and close to hospital and universities. The space The house is private and self-contained for guests. A creative space furnished with pre-industrial pieces and hand made objects. An extended length of stay is welcome, by arrangement. Special personal requirements are to be advised in advance of your stay. Guest access House access: Access to the house is on street level. Entry is via the front latch gate and bricked courtyard to the front porch and door. The front door key (for the door knob lock) may be accessed from the lockbox by arrangement. Guests are not to use the rear gate at the back of the house as it is permanently closed for security. This also prevents leaves and shoes entering the kitchen space, at the back of the house. Kitchen: Tea, coffee, milk, sugar is stocked in the kitchen pantry. Breakfast: Self service breakfast includes foods from the selection of organic produce being seasonal fruit, muesli, yogurts, artisan bread, natural juice, a tea selection and ground coffee. Fresh eggs are available, on request (subject to hens laying). Cooking facilities: A SMEG electric jug and toaster, small electric convection oven, electric induction hob, microwave oven. A French Press coffee maker and fresh ground plunger coffee is provided. Note: The microwave oven is stored, and placed in the kitchen as requested. The white glazed drinking cups and Nest dinnerware plates are not durable and should be carefully handwashed. Japanese Hasami porcelain cups should also be hand washed. A range of dishwasher friendly cups and dinnerware is also available, if this is preferred. These items are indicated in the kitchen cupboard. Dishwasher: The dishwasher is pre-set, ready to be loaded and turned on. It should only be used for a large load of dishes, and those items that are dishwasher-proof. Refrigerator and freezer: Available for guest use. User manuals and instructions for electrical appliances: Kept in the top kitchen drawer. Purchased meals can be heated in the electric convection oven or microwave oven (the latter kept in cupboard storage). Bathroom facilities: Include two showers - upstairs and downstairs. Wifi Internet service. Electrical heating: A selection of oil filled heaters and fan heaters are located in the house. Laundry facilities: Washing machine and clothes drier; and clothes drying racks. Please advise the host of anticipated requirements in advance of your stay. The ironing room is to be used for ironing only. It is not to be used for any other purpose. The room also serves as the host's workspace and storage area. The cupboard in this space is private, and this is labelled on the door handle accordingly. Private off street parking: The carport is located behind the house, suitable for one medium sized car. (Note: It is the right hand side carport.) Services such as bus, rail and ferry transport, pharmacy, dry cleaning, hair dresser, florist, etc can be advised.
