Other things to note The advantage to being located in Wengen (in the middle between Grindelwald & Lauterbrunnen/Murren) is that you can BEST access the skiing/hiking trails of the entire region! The Jungfrau ski pass covers Wengen, Grindelwald, and Murren, a total of 195 km of ski pistes including the Jungfrau glacier at over 3,400m, but you need to be prepared to take the train to explore the full potential of the area. The new Mannlichen cable-car now gives a convenient and speedy alternative to the train. The extensive ski lift system is absolutely state-of-the-art! Intermediate skiers have plenty of long runs to choose from and can spend a day travelling right across to the Schilthorn, above Murren, at 2,970m or descend down to Grindelwald. For non-skiers, there are extensive groomed trails for winter walking & mountains trains that bring you to an abundance of mountain restaurants with spectacular views to enjoy rosti at its best, and of course excellent Swiss service! You can dine well in Wengen, particularly at the Caprice, the Baren & Mary’s Café which is a 5’ walk from Stella. For longer stays: The proximity to Interlaken with its lake and golf course and Lauterbrunnen makes this the perfect base for summer touring.
