Olive Cottage is our most popular cottage. Offering Winelands farm living at it's best this cottage overlooks the beautiful gardens and farm animal paddocks. The space Olive Cottage boasts a large private veranda with a braai and spacious outdoor table. The open plan kitchen has a Smeg oven and handpicked vintage crockery. The spacious bedroom overlooks the animal paddock and the bathroom has a beautiful Victorian bath and walk-in shower. Guest access The San Gabriel Manor House on the farm with the six adjacent cottages, were all built in the traditional Cape Dutch style during the mid-1700. Olive cottage is a freestanding cottage and offers privacy from the other cottages. The farm offers open lawns, two pools, a dam, vast vistas of the Helderberg mountains and is a natural habitat with birdlife as well as farm animals. All of this we would like to share with you and your family. Other things to note We can offer a Homestead Continental Breakfast in the Food Studio should you wish to book at an additional charge of R150 per person. Renier also hosts a pizza night every Friday evening that you are welcome to book should you be staying with us over the weekend. Our farmshop is open daily for inhouse guests and is stocked with snacks and beautiful homeware. San Gabriel is a real farm with real sheep, ducks, turkeys and chickens. It also has owls, fish eagles, pheasants and guineafowl. It has vast lawns, rose gardens and a little forest. Our cottages are ancient and endearing with creaky floors and other perfect imperfections which we hope you will enjoy as much as we do. San Gabriel Homestead has a solar system which ensures that the basic amenities in the accommodation work at all times. The gas hob can be used during loadshedding to make coffee and food. San Gabriel Homestead has wifi. The homestead is slap bang in the middle of the Cape Winelands and literally surrounded by wine farms, restaurants and bistros, art galleries and walking as well as cycling routes. All kitchens stock a basic pantry which includes Coffee, a choice of Teas, Milk, Salt and Pepper. Amenities in Olive Cottage's kitchen include a Smeg stove with an oven, a fridge and freezer, kettle, microwave, French coffee press and a toaster. The flagship Woolworths Food Store in the Waterstone Mall is a comfortable 9min drive from San Gabriel Homestead.
