Salisbury Hill: misty mountain home's Macedon Room

A cosy room in a country property on 2 acres in Mount Macedon, next to the state forest, in an area famous for its food and wine. We're 45mins from Melbourne, 10mins to Hanging Rock & walking distance to wonderful wineries & the local pub. A delight for cyclists & bushwalkers. Our two labradors are super friendly & will be very disappointed if you don’t pat them. We’re travellers who enjoy meeting new people & sharing our neighbourhood. Please note our goats are no longer with us. The space Our home is on two secluded acres, right next to the state forest. Our beautiful Labradors Zella and Harpo are as friendly as can be and will want to welcome you when you arrive. Be warned! :-) The only noises you'll hear are ducks and other birds. You might see the kangaroos that tend to come on our property or across the road, and if you’re really lucky the local wombat or echidna might say hello. Kookaburras and rosellas abound along with ducks, magpies, cockatoos and other birdlife. Please remember we are listed as a “farm stay” as until recently we had two goats; our dogs are part of the family and thus are inside dogs with some inevitable hair shedding. Please remember this is our *home*. If you like staying in generic, minimalist hotels that’s not us and you probably won’t like our place. But if you want to stay in a home environment, not a hotel, with friendly people and animals then we hope you will enjoy staying with us. NB our driveway is quite steep but fine for anything down to a small hatchback, but if you have a super low sports car or similar our place is not right for you. We are doing what Airbnb was set up for: renting out spare rooms in our home, not renting out a whole home or apartment. As there is one bathroom for two bedrooms we try to only book one room at any time (except when big local events are on), so you will have a private bathroom, unless you are traveling with friends in which case you can book both rooms. When it is a busy period eg the Autumn Festival or public holidays we don’t increase our fees or put minimum stay requirements, but we may ask you to share the bathroom with the other room. We endeavour to check with the first booking to confirm this is okay with you and compensate via a bottle of wine. During your stay We'll get you settled and answer any questions, give you tips etc. Beyond that, you're welcome to interact as much or as little as you like. Other things to note I speak basic Italian, Portuguese and a smattering of French and Spanish, and my husband Simon speaks pretty good German, so we happily accommodate visitors from overseas. If you are in town for a local wedding we may be able to drop you off and pick you up, just ask and we’ll do our best for you. A few popular wedding venues are actually walking distance from our place. The shower is relatively disabled accessible (flat entrance, no lip, but please note there are no hand rails). We have a shower chair we can pop in there on request. The Airbnb accommodation at our place is all on one level, except for two steps down into the sunken lounge room. My mum is disabled, so we are conscious of disabled access.
