Our house is situated on the appropriately named “whale island” (Kvaløya), just a short 15-20 minute drive to Tromsø city centre and 12 minutes to the airport (9km). This is a perfect location for those searching for a true Arctic experience, as the house is located at the main hub of Kvaløya. Dog and Reindeer sleddings are close by (3km). It is truly is the perfect place to appreciate northern Norway. The space Kvaløya is also one of the most popular places around Tromsø to be amazed by one of the world's seven natural wonders, the Aurora Borealis. This amazing sight can often be seen from our house, but for those wanting to join one of the organized Northern Lights tours, they pass right by our home. For those who would like to go ski touring, Thorleif is an avalanche instructor and would be happy to help you find the best places to suit your needs. In the summer, you can experience the midnight sun and the longest summer nights in the world (24h daylight). Our house is in the middle of “everything” a good balance of being close to both the wild and the city. The bus stop is within 5 minutes walk away where the busses run regularly and can take you directly into the city. A local supermarket is also a minute walk from our front door. The sports facilities in the Tromsø and Kvaløya include 60 km of classical cross-country skiing tracks. The guest has There own snowshoes and icepigs. Guest access Our guests have their own apartment with bedroom, living room (30 sq. m), bathroom and small private kitchen, total 50 sq.m, with fridge and freezer. The living room is big enough to accommodate an extra bed (air mattress) which can be provided upon request. The whole rental space is situated on the ground floor of our property and is easily accessible. We share the entrance and the hallway with our guests. The second floor is home to myself (Thorleif) and my family: Helene my partner, Johanne my daughter and our family dogs Lexi and Lady collie.
