They can heal your fatigue and soothe muscle, joint and nerve pain and ease the effects of high blood pressure. ◆ 3,000 tsubo (10,000 square meter) Japanese style Garden ◆ In spring, dozens of cherry blossom trees, including Somei Yoshino and Yamazakura bloom around the garden and the late-flowering Yaezakura extend our cherry blossom season well into late May. In summer, fireflies appear in the Amami River which surrounds our gardens and the trees become a lush, rich green. In autumn, our many maples burn with bright reds and golds and the giant ginko tree at a nearby shrine is a sight to behold. When December comes, the fruit of the "Nanten" plants which give our ryokan its name change to a bright red and contrast perfectly on the days when we are lucky enough to have snow.
