The Hideaway - Peace Suite

A national monument and one of the oldest houses in Swellendam, the Hideaway Guest House boasts four very spacious and elegant individually decorated rooms in a lush, green garden setting with amazing views of the looming mountain behind. A large natural swimming pool (220 cubic metres) set amongst herbaceous borders, orchard and olive grove, a stream and rose walk with a beautiful pool pavilion and guest lounge are new additions to The Hideaway for guests to enjoy.. The space All our suites have three different types of coffees, several different types of teas, and fresh milk is always available in the refrigerator. Our internationally acclaimed shortbread is renewed daily, as is the locally-grown fruit, the port, and the muscadel (muscadel is the sweet wine loved by early settlers). All these items are there for your enjoyment at no charge. The contents of the fridge are there to be enjoyed at no extra cost if consumed on the premises. There is an extensive range of local Aloe Ferox toiletries in the bathrooms, to be enjoyed. Electric blankets are available at all times. However, we only put these on the beds during the colder months. The air conditioner is set for maximum coolness at 20C. All rooms now receive free Wi-Fi thanks to our recently amplified broadband antenna. All our rooms now include flat screen televisions with a satellite movie channel.
