The Shed on Blackwood, a rural retreat Bridgetown

The Shed on Blackwood is a rural retreat in a large, bird-filled garden, offering peace and quiet in the South West of WA. It is half of a large shed, fully renovated, insulated and very comfortable. In winter, snuggle up with a wood fire. In summer, walk along the river to town for your morning coffee. Our property is quiet, relaxing and ideal for weekend getaways. The space The Shed on Blackwood is 1.5 km from the centre of Bridgetown (takes 25 mins to walk) and separate from the main house. It has its own undercover area outside with chairs for you to relax in. It has reverse cycle air conditioning and for winter a lovely wood heater (wood is provided). There is a queen bed maximum 2 people. We provide either a summer or winter doona/duvet and extra blankets. If the 'wrong' doona is on the bed for your liking, please let us know and we'll change it. A firm and a medium pillow is provided for each guest. Babies (bring your own cot) may be possible - please ask before booking. WIFI is free but can be patchy. We recommend you to bring your own dongle if WIFI is important. We are close to the Bibbulmun Track, so we can offer pick-up/drop-off services, cost depends on distance from The Shed. Guest access You are most welcome to wander over our rural property of 2.5 acres and enjoy the garden, the birdlife and the views. Opposite the front gate is the river and a three minute walk just along the road will take you to the river side walk (a 5 kms circular walk into town for coffee or brunch). Other things to note If you let us know of your estimated time of arrival we can light the fire (or turn on the airconditioner) before you arrive. The Shed is unsuitable for toddlers; however, babies will be considered but please contact us first before booking. The kitchenette has lots of electrical equipment for cooking meals, but it does not have a stove (it does have a small benchtop oven). If you want more information, please contact us before booking.
