Durham Cottage - in the heart of Cowes old town

A charming, Victorian cottage in the centre of the old town of Cowes. A stone's throw from the Red Jet, the high street and all the pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and delis. Including two double bedrooms and a single bunk, a sunny walled courtyard garden with BBQ and a well-equipped kitchen. The cottage comes with a rare, free, private parking space for one car. Would suit families, couples or sailors. The space Durham Cottage is in a very pretty street less than a minute's walk from the high street of Cowes with everything you need right on your doorstep. There is a Sainsbury's, M & S Simply Food as well as a range of smaller independent stores including a butcher and a fish monger. The cottage is also within a few steps from the gorgeous Forrester Hall boutique hotel with its Asian Infused seafood restaurant called the Smoking Lobster and cosy bar (open to non-residents). Our cottage is perfectly situated for all that Cowes has to offer, with private parking for one car behind the property, in the old 'forge'. The entrance to the car park is quite narrow and situated between two terraces houses. Extra care should be taken when entering the carport. You do so at your own risk. The house is a couple of minutes walk to the Parade which westbound, takes you on a wonderful stroll past the Cowes Royal Yacht Squadron along past the Green and into Gurnard (around 30 minutes flat walk) which has a great pub that overlooks the sea and has one of the best views of the sunset. The house is tastefully decorated and is very cosy with everything you need for your stay including a brand new modern kitchen (installed March 2024) a large modern upstairs bathroom. The main bedroom has a king-size bed and the second bedroom has a double bed with a single bunk above. Our converted loft room is out of bounds to our guests due to the steep staircase. We do have a stairgate across the entrance to this loft space. There is also the extra benefit of a modern toilet, sink, and shower/wet room in the outhouse. Guest access The house is accessible from the front door or the garden door which leads out to the parking space behind the property. Other things to note Although we ask our guests not to bring their pets onto our property- please be aware that our non-moulting dog does join us on our family holidays to the cottage. Please be aware of this if you or any of your family have pet allergies. As you can see from my reviews our house is incredibly clean and our dog isn’t allowed on any of the furniture.
