Darfield: Homebush School Cottage

Homebush Cottage is part of the 130 year old former Homebush School, located on the Southern Scenic Route, 8kms from Darfield township and close to popular Skifields, Lakes and amazing tourist destinations, thus making us the perfect stopover. The cottage is set on 3 acres including beautiful rambling gardens and tennis court. The Cottage is super comfy and suitable for a couple. We provide a self catering breakfast including free range eggs from Brown Shavers so no need to worry about food !! The space HOMEBUSH SCHOOL COTTAGE is perfect for travellers, a cosy and warm stopover to relax before heading off on the INLAND SCIENIC ROUTE to the WEST COAST or South to WANAKA and QUEENSTOWN. We are in close proximity to some amazing attractions, Washpen Falls, Opuke Hot pools, Main divide Helicopters, Ballooning Canterbury to name a few. Guest access Grab the Racquets and have a game ofTennis or feel free to walk around the property. Talk to the animals including pet sheep and 7 lambs, Kune kune pigs, hens and our gorgeous puppy Teddy a mini Schnauzer who takes meeting and greeting our guests very seriously 🌼 Other things to note The Cottage is completly self contained and for your comfort there is a Heatpump, a wall mounted heater in the bathroom and electric blanket on the queen size bed. Wifi is available and a wall mounted 42" TV if you wish to relax and catch up with what's going on in the world. The kitchen is equipped with Fridge, Microwave, Electric frypan, Toaster, Electric jug and all cooking utensils, everything you need to prepare breakfast or a simple meal. There is no cook top in The Cottage due to Council regulations and Insurance. For an evening meal there are many options for dinner in Darfield, Grain and Grape, Darfield Hotel, Thirsty Acres in Kirwee and numerous takeaway options.
