the House of the Torrent

La casa del torrente is a rural home of about 100 square meters surrounded by nature and the silence of an enchanted valley but only three kilometers from the center of Noto. The house is surrounded by a 7000 square meter citrus grove and the boundary of the land is marked by the S. Chiara with its fresh and clear water. A feature of this pleasant place is the scarcity of the cellular signal, which only reaches some areas of the house and veranda. So we have Wi-Fi! The space The house consists of a bright and spacious kitchen that overlooks the outdoor veranda and the flower garden, a large living room, a bathroom and a very large bedroom on the mezzanine floor with a double bed and two single beds. In the garden in front of the veranda there is a bathtub (with a wood-fired bath heater) and a shower (with cold water) The house is well insulated by a cork thermal coat and ventilated roof, but you will find a fan in case of extreme heat. If it is cold, guests can heat the house by turning on the wood-burning fireplace (guests are responsible for the wood). Above the fireplace, there is a smart TV with Netflix for rainy evenings! Guest access To get to the Casa del Torrente you have to travel along a dirt road of about 1 km for which I recommend a high car (you can travel it with any car, but if it is low you have to go slowly and be careful) Guests have access to the indoor and outdoor areas of the house described and shown in the photos, the surrounding land, and the stream. Walking along the stream in reverse, it is possible to reach (in about an hour of walking in the water) beautiful ponds with waterfalls Other things to note Depending on the season, guests have access to: lemons (always) oranges (in winter and late sometimes until June), mulberry and nespole (in May), apricots (in June), and the delicious khaki (in October). The water comes to the house from a spring in the ground but is not drinkable from the tap because it is stored in a cistern. You will find an original Berkey filter to make it perfectly drinkable!
