Description
Flotsam has two fabulous fully self-contained studios, right at the entrance to the Tasman Peninsula. Each has their own private surroundings and fantastic views. We are about 30 mins due east of Hobart Airport. It's ideal for one-night stays, but, if time permitting, treat yourself to a few days so you can explore this incredible area which is all within easy reach. The Studios are well-designed and modern, and have lovely touches which will make your stay very comfortable and special. The space Flotsam is perched high above the beautiful Dunalley Beach which you can access from your studio. At low tide you can walk way out on the shoals. It's quite unique. We have complimentary Kayaks for you to explore our beautiful surrounds We are right on the doorstep to the Tasman Peninsula, where you can visit the Port Arthur Historic Site and all the natural wonders, like the Tasman Arch and the Blow Hole, or put your hiking boots on an do the famous walks - like Three Capes and Waterfall Bay! They are fabulous! If you want to explore the beaches, theres our Marion Bay Beach, or Sommers Bay Beach near Murdunna, or Eaglehawk Neck BeacBeach or the lovely beaches of Dodges Ferry and Carlton. We have some terrific places to eat in Dunalley - The Cannery Seafood Restaurantis famous for the Chowder and Fresh Crayfish, where you can watch the boats at anchor in Blackman Bay. Or go to Seafood Market on the canal for authentic fish and chips wrapped in newspaper and is also home to the Dunalley Bay Distillery. The Distillery has Gin and Whiskey tastings and sells their Gin in the most beautiful bottles overlooking the Dunalley Bay. The Dunalley Publ is famous for fresh fish and seafood with open fires in winter or outdoor seating in Summer. Or just over the road from us is the lovely Bangor Vineyard where you can have food and wine and popular wine tastings. Don't forget the Murdunna Roadhouse which has the best Pizzas and Barista made coffee. The Murdunna Roadhouse also sells fresh oysters and a large range of groceries open until 7pm in Summer and 6pm in Winter. Guest access Basically you have full access to the block, we just ask that you respect each other's privacy.You are very welcome to use one or both of the Kayaks available on site. Other things to note We recommend that if you are planning to cook for yourself that you stop in Sorell to pick up your supplies. There's a Woolworths and Coles, bottle shops, chemists, just about everything. There isn't a supermarket in Dunalley. Registration Details Exempt: This listing is a hotel, motel, or caravan park
