OLD WINE INN - ISLAND OF GOZO
Description
We share our family heirloom with travellers who want to experience Gozo at its heart and soul. It's rurally village setting, quaint sunny garden, and antique original furnishings will transport you back to the humble, earthly times of centuries gone. The space On her wedding day 16-year-old Katerina looked out of her bedroom window and saw the French fleet on the horizon, as they approached Malta. It was the day Napoleon Bonaparte conquered the islands from the Knights of St. John, the 19th of May 1798. Katerina was our foremother, who lived in the house for many years with her husband Karmenu. They produced their own wine, bred their own livestock and ran a wine bar downstairs. The house was handed over through generations, and so were all the stories lived between the walls. Every single corner of the house ouzes character, charm, and that feeling of depth only brought about by years of historical events, celebrations and lives lived under that same roof.
