Garden Apartment - Old School House, Les Ougiers

The beautiful Old School House in Les Ougiers is on the edge of the Ecrins National Park and only 5 minutes (by car) from the Venosc gondola into Les Deux Alpes. The large Garden Flat has full height glass doors leading from both the bedroom and living room on to the large garden with fantastic mountain views over the national park. A fantastic base for winter sports, cycling, hiking, climbing and MTB. The flat has it's own entrance and off street parking and bike storage. The space The Garden Flat was newly refurbished to a high standard in 2019. The bedroom can be arranged as two singles or one large double bed. The stylish new bathroom comprises a bath with shower over and has use of a large 200 litre tank for continuous hot water. Both the bedroom and separate living room have full height glass doors leading on to the garden, with great views of the Ecrins National Park. There is a comfortable living room plus semi-separate kitchen which includes an induction hob, oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Bed linen and towels are available for 15,- euros per person per stay The off street parking is available all summer and accessible for 4 wheel drive vehicles in winter, with on street parking also available. Secure bike storage is currently available in the hallway of the main house. The telecabine / cable car from Venosc to Les Deux Alpes is a 5 minute drive away with a large free to use car park. Several hiking routes start just next to the property including the Veneon river path and routes up to Danchere, Lac Lauvitel, the GR54 and Pied Moutet. The Veneon river path is currently shared with MTBs with plans to tarmac all the way from Venosc to Grenoble for road bikes. A bar and restaurant and available opposite and is open during summer and winter seasons. Booking is advisable for dinner. The garden flat is listed as being on one level. Please note there is a reasonably steep slope, with rubber matting for winter, leading down to it. Not very wheelchair friendly. There is a very small step up into the bathroom, due to underfloor heating. Further details on request Guest access All of it. This is a private apartment. Other things to note This is a self-catering apartment. While we do not provide catering, there is a restaurant and bar immediately opposite the apartment which is open during the summer and winter seasons (dinner reservations often required). There are many other restaurants a short drive / cycle away. Do you want the comfort of not bringing your own towels/sheets? For €15~ per person we can furnish the apartment with fresh towels and linen, which can normally paid in cash on arrival.
