Located in an enchanting setting on a mountain at 700 meters, in a small mountain village that still has its typical rural homes and rustic courtyards, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Varese, just 20 minutes from Lake Maggiore. An ideal place for people who love nature, relaxation, walking and hiking. Renovated in 2021 in the pop art style and equipped with all amenities. The space The house consists of an open area with sofa bed, wood burning fireplace and fully equipped kitchen. In the bedroom, there is a comfortable double bed and a closet. Each room is equipped with electric fan coils for heating and air conditioning. The many decorations inside the house were made by craftsmen and artists to create a cozy, unique and original environment. Outside the front door there is a spacious terrace with a table and chairs, deck chairs and sofas. Our guests can relax on the terrace and admire the beautiful landscape and hear the sound of birds singing. The house is surrounded by greenery and has its own parking space. The completely fenced property borders on two other properties, one below (in front of our) and the other on the left side. Nearby, there is an restaurant, a family farm where you can buy locally produced goat cheeses, the Rose Garden where you can admire a rich collection of roses, a Skansen-type rural house where you can see everyday objects from the past. There are also several hiking trails. Here, nature is the absolute center of attraction. Jean-Jacques Rousseau wrote, "There is always an open book for all eyes: nature." Come visit us and enjoy reading, you'll be amazed. Guest access The Cottage is accessible only by car and not by public transport, because the road leading up is not very wide, has a serpentine design. While it's tarmacked, it narrows in certain sections. This means you'll need to be comfortable reversing to let any potential oncoming cars pass by. From the traffic lights at Cittiglio (VA) take the SP8 that goes up to Vararo - Passo di Cuvignone, after 7 km (about 15 minutes), you will see an illuminated information board at the entrance of the village of Vararo, turn right and enter the village. The last section of the road, about 100 meters, is unpaved and narrow so it is impossible to pass with really wide car. We have private parking on the spot but alternatively, the public parking is located at 300 meters where you can park your car and we can help you with luggage. It is also possible to walk up from Laveno (about one hour) or take the cable car to Monte Sasso del Ferro and walk down to the village of Vararo (20 + 30 minutes). Departing on foot from our accommodation, there are several marked trails for walking in the surrounding mountains. Other things to note The Cottage is located 15 minutes from the waterfalls in Cittiglio, 20 minutes from Lake Maggiore, 40 km from Como, 65 km from Milan, 33 km from Milan Malpensa international airport and 86 km from the Bergamo-Orio al Serio airport.
