Kirakuan - a Machiya with a modern touch
Description
After an exciting day of traveling and sightseeing, unwind and immerse yourself in the modern comforts of a traditional Kyo-machiya. Whether you are seeking serenity or excitement, traditional or modern, convenience or isolation—you will find a little bit of “home” in the heart of Kyoto. The space Kirakuan is a 100- year-old Machiya (townhouse), which I personally renovated with modern amenities, high-tech appliances, and wooden floors. I also tried to preserve the authenticity of its original style by preserving and reusing antique fixtures and furniture. I believe that when traveling, location is key — This house is conveniently located 1 subway stop away or 5 minutes by taxi from both Kyoto Station and the city center. Yet, it is very quiet at night because the house is off the main road. After a full day of fun, come home and relax—cook your own food in our modern kitchen, enjoy a cup of coffee or a nightcap at the dining table, or get some well-deserved rest in the quiet bedroom upstairs. 2 separate bedrooms with their own sinks both standing shower and a bathtub a full counter-top kitchen with dishwasher washing machine and a inside terrace free wi-fi access laptop PC kitchen appliances coffee & tea 1 bicycle Nearby Shops 24h supermarket nice local food restaurants pharmacy Nishiki Food Market Nearby Culture Yasaka Shrine Kiyomizu temple Higashi Honganji Nishi Honganji Additional charge after 2 guests: 3,000 yen to 5,000 yen depends on the season Registration details Hotels and Inns Business Act | 京都市長 門川 大作 | 京都市指令保保生第56号
