Ghoirtein Bed and Breakfast

Our house is Architect designed with wonderful views over the valley towards Glen Affric and the mountains. We are 4 miles from the very busy town of Drumnadrochit so if you like peace and quiet this is the place to be. The house is situated un 2.5 acres of woodland with a small lochum. We have 14 hens, 8 ducks and 1 cat. The garden is full of wild life and birds, we have red squirrel, foxes and pinemartins. Please note we have no cooking or dining facilities, and no takeaways in room. The space The Bedroom/s we offer are spacious, thoughtfully furnished and equipped using our knowledge as hoteliers. You can book the Double room for 1 or 2 For a third adult or older child we offer the single room at a charge of £20.00 per night Bed and Breakfast. Both these rooms share the bathroom. If you require the two rooms for single occupancy for two persons then we would discount the single room to £15.00. If you only require the Double we do not let the single to anyone else. We do have an extra double room ensuite on the ground floor which we would use if there are 4 adults travelling together and would want 2 double rooms. The cost of this room is from £65.00 for 1 or two persons including breakfast. We offer a continental breakfast buffet of cereals, toast, croissants and we are happy to offer a boiled egg. Our eggs come from our own chickens which free range in part of the garden. Unfortunately we cannot take children under the age of 7. Our normal check in times are between 5pm and 8 pm. If you require an earlier check in then let us know on or before day of arrival by 11 am. We do sometimes go out and may not be back until 5 pm if we are not expecting you. We would like guests to understand this house rule as late arrivals disturb our neighbours and other guests. Guests can book in and take a key. Guest access You are more than welcome to explore the garden which is quite wild. We also keep different types of chickens and a few ducks. We are purely a bed and breakfast so do not offer cooking/eating facilities to our guests. We do expect our guests to go out to eat and not bring food back to their rooms and are very happy to make a reservation at a local pub/restaurant for you. Recently we have purchased another 5 acres of woodland which during the summer months we will be making access to it - under construction. We would like to point out that check in time if between 5-8 pm and if you are coming from Skye it will take you approx 3 hours. During your stay We are available during the day, although we might be down the garden or sitting in the boat house - just come and find us. We are happy for our guests to sit in the garden and have recently added an area which is sheltered where guests can take food and drink, relax and overlook the garden. Other things to note We also have a cat, he is not allowed upstairs in the guest bedrooms under normal circumstances but guests do encourage him sometimes and Sam does follow me around when guests arrive as he is very nosy and does like meeting new people. I always tell guests to throw him out if he is a nuisance! I am aware that I am repeating myself, but we do not offer cooking or dining facilities, and no take aways please.
