If you are wanting the perfect Luxury Rural Retreat to relax then welcome to our roomy and luxurious Cottage in beautiful Waiau Pa in Franklin, South Auckland just 35 minutes from Auckland International Airport and under an hour to Auckland City (off peak). The space This roomy Cottage offers two large bedrooms, each with it's own King Size Bed and full Ensuite (with extra-large showers). The modern Kitchen in the open plan Lounge /Dining /Kitchen central area features a bench top Hob, Dishwasher, Full size Refrigerator, Fan oven, Microwave oven, Nespresso coffee machine, toasted sandwich maker, toaster, electric kettle, etc. We do not provide meals, however all the facilities are there to be able to prepare yourselves a gourmet feast if you wish. Complimentary Free range eggs for the first morning of your stay are provided for self catering and there is fresh milk, tea, coffee, sugar, bread, cereals, jams and spreads provided to last several days. The lounge area features a luxurious feather-filled lounge suite where you can snuggle up and enjoy the ambience of the inbuilt gas fireplace under the 65” HD TV and watch your favourite programme. Air conditioning keeps the whole house toasty in winter and cool in summer. The cottage has its own private electric-gated driveway entrance and is all on one easily accessible level , (wheelchair friendly) with an internal access garage . The french doors from the lounge area, dining area, and one bedroom, open onto the large patio surrounding the house. There is also a covered patio area for those hot summer days when shelter from the sun and/or rain may be required. Views from all rooms are beautiful rural scenes including cattle peacefully grazing in the distance or making their way to or from the daily milking. Wake in the morning to amazing birdsong from over 26 different species of birds including Tui, Fantails, Grey Warblers, Finches, Blue Herons, Kingfishers, Pheasants, skylarks, and many others. Night time brings the calls of the Morepork, NZ's native owl, and Pukeko. You may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the resident moreporks sleeping in the tree canopy during the day. Please note: Absolutely NO children under 14! Absolutely NO pets! Absolutely NO parties or loud music! Absolutely NO Smoking or vaping anywhere on or in the property! Absolutely NO exceptions! Guest access Please note: You are welcome to stroll over our 6 hectare house paddock (9am -6pm) or go for a ramble around the mown 1.7km perimeter track, where we walk our two border terrier dogs morning and evening. Access onto the adjacent farm is restricted for health and safety reasons You can relax on the 2 sun loungers available on the front patio, or at the outdoor table with umbrella and 4 chairs and enjoy a BBQ listening to the birdsong, and waterfall splashing in the nearby fish pond. A gas BBQ is provided. The quiet country roads make for pleasant walking and/or cycling, (There are 2 mountain bikes and helmets available for use). Other things to note - IF YOU DON’T THINK YOU WILL BE ABLE TO COMPLY WITH ALL OF OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR STAYING - PLEASE DON’T BOOK! THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS! -Maximum of 4 guests. No other sleeping facilities are available nor provided. - This is a rural, (country), area so a motor vehicle is essential for getting around. We are not urban enough to be serviced by Uber and no public transport is locally available. The nearest bus stop is 11km away. - Young People under 14 years of age are not permitted on the property due to potential farm workplace hazards, machinery, electric fences, open water, streams, ponds and troughs. - Pets of any kind are NOT permitted. - Absolutely NO parties or loud music. - Smoking/vaping is PROHIBITED anywhere in the cottage or anywhere else on the entire property as the smell of stale cigarettes or vaping odours is offensive to following guests and to us and, if not honoured, you WILL be required to leave.
