Dog friendly cottage w/woodland & lake

Description

Our much-loved cottage will make a relaxing break as part of our Nature Retreat. It's surrounded by trees & gardens, 1 mile down a farm lane for the ultimate seclusion & star-studded nights. We're dog-friendly with over 100 acres of farm to explore, including a Labyrinth & stone circles. The cottage has traditional comforts, including a large granite fireplace. The space Once in the rose arched front door, you'll find an open living room/dining room, featuring a solid dining table handmade from reclaimed wood and a magnificent granite fireplace taking centre stage. In this living area, there's also a TV with Netflix so you have the option to enjoy a cosy evening in watching films after a day of exploring. The newly fitted kitchen incorporates an original Raburn, that provides background warmth in the chillier months. Upstairs there are high, open-beamed ceilings and low cottage windows looking out to the surrounding greenery. In the first bedroom is a king-size bed, and the second bedroom is dominated by the heart of the house, a spectacular granite chimney stack. In this spacious area is a small double and a single bed. The light and airy bathroom is inspired by cornish rock pools and includes a bath/shower. This idyllic spot is perfect for those who like adventure but also seek relaxation. The only sounds you're likely to hear are birds, (including from our resident peacock depending on the season), and fairly often wild Canada geese flying overhead, as well as, distant moos from our three rescue Dexter cows (usually when it's their tea time!). It’s a wonderful spot for adventuring, with over 120 acres of farmland, including a pond and a lake to explore with plenty of wildlife to enjoy. This is a lovely place to spend some quality time together; stargazing, blackberry picking and pine cone collecting! Nearby Porthleven is ideal for days at the beach and eating out, as well as beautiful beaches like Praa Sands, Gunwalloe and Gwithian. Overall this is a great base for visiting other areas like the Lizard Peninsula, Helston, Hayle, Penzance, Falmouth and the Far West. Guest access We're lucky enough to be in a peaceful and secluded location so the lane access to the property is one ‘Cornish’ mile long leading into the heart of the valley. It's important to bear in mind that it is bumpy as it’s a farm lane so you’ll need to take it slow. It's also good to consider that this can add additional time to your journeys; though it can be less, we say to allow for 10 minutes to slowly amble your way down. Please see the last few pictures of what to expect. Before arrival, you'll receive a very useful check-in guide with step-by-step instructions with images on how to get here - important to use. Guests are free to enjoy the entire farm. Other things to note As a nature retreat, we occasionally have retreat days or small workshops running. While we try to keep these separate from dates that guests are staying, there’s still a chance that one will be happening during your stay especially in the summer on a weekend. However, we do move around as quietly as possible. Again, it’s good to be aware are the 1 ‘Cornish’ mile long farm lane, it can be quite bumpy (please see last pictures). It's advisable to use the step-by-step check-in guide to help you find the cottage. It's also important to be aware of the pond at the bottom of the garden, and the nearby lake if you have children or pets. There is also no phone signal in the cottage, but it can be caught in the fields or up the lane (or you can use this as a way to take a break from the outside world.) We have two dogs, Spanish and Macedonian rescues, Billie and Mollie. They like to have the occasional woof but they’re very friendly! We follow Airbnb’s five-step enhanced cleaning process, which is based on Airbnb’s cleaning handbook that was developed in partnership with experts. Here are a few highlights: - We sanitise high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob - We use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and I wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination - We refer to cleaning checklists to thoroughly clean each room - We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay - We comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines We also ask for everyone to kindly leave everything as they find it.
