Description
Siløya is a 30-acre island just outside Melbu in Vesterålen, overlooking Lofoten's beautiful mountain range to the south. Accommodation is in a well insulated year-round tent with extra thick canvas, wood stove and wood storage. You also rent a great boat that can be used for transport and fishing. This is the place for the unpretentious who want to be on their own and experience a rough natural environment. You live in the middle of nature and have the lake and boating right outside. The space Here, guests have a 30-acre island all to themselves, most of the time. Floating jetty facilities provide safe access by boat. Transport from Melbu to Siløya is by boat and takes about five minutes. The island has its own beautiful beach that can be used both in summer and winter (ice bathing). Adapted barbecue area and lookout area. In the dark season, Siløya is a unique place to see the Northern Lights. Throughout the year there are unique opportunities for fishing with a rod from land. It is also possible to book deep sea fishing from a boat. Boat trips with RIB to Trollfjorden from the island (booked in addition) The place is close to the lake and the sea. Short transport to Melbu provides good opportunities for grocery shopping. From the ferry dock at Melbu you can take a bus to other places in Lofoten via ferry, as well as Vesterålen. Stokmarknes Airport Skagen is only 20 kilometers from Melbu. Svolvær Airport is an hour from Melbu, including ferry. Melbu also has a number of shops, a school and a high school. You will love Siløya because you are in the middle of nature with unique fishing opportunities from land and the fjord outside. You can cook/grill the fish on a fire or in the oven. My place is good for anyone who wants a rough and different experience in the middle of nature. Guest access Siløya has no electricity, water, or drainage. There is a primitive water toilet. You can buy food and bottled water at one of the local grocery stores in Melbu. In the isolated tent there is simple furnishing with beds for everyone, furniture and kitchen utensils that cover the needs for a successful stay. The island has a dry toilet. Other things to note You can arrange extra trips to and from Siløya if needed. If you wish to rent your own boat, we are happy to arrange it. Transportation to and from the island during the stay is done with a small rowing boat.
