The Old Shop B&B
Description
The Old Shop B&B is a ground floor character en-suite double bedroom in a 17c cob and stone house. The room was part of the village shop since at least the first part of the 1800s until 1989. The en-suite is a wet room with bespoke furniture, made to compliment the history of the building. Perfectly located for use of the charming village pub and the well stocked village shop. PLEASE NOTE Rate quoted is room only, meat free Full English style breakfasts can be supplied at £9.50 extra pppn. The space The owners have created a healthier environment than the normal holiday accommodation, by extensively using natural paints and varnishes. These do not off-gas potentially harmful chemicals into the rooms like many ordinary paints. The building has full central heating but there is also an oil filled radiator in the room giving complete control for maximum comfort. The ceiling is low compared to modern buildings. Guest access There is no access to a garden or kitchen. The room has a kettle for hot drinks. Parking is on the Square with no fees, but guests can usually park directly outside the room. During your stay We are usually around and very happy to chat about the area's attractions, the house, football, motorbikes etc. Other things to note Located on the village square you can see the ancient and mysterious Devil's Stone which forms the centre of attention for the historic `turning the stone' ceremony every 5th November.
