Home in Matterdale

Completed in July 2020, The Hayloft is one of 3 cottages in our old stone barn near Ullswater lake in the Lake District. Bedroom one has a double bed and en suite shower, toilet and basin. Bedroom 2 can be made up as a double bed or two single beds. We can provide an extra small bed in here for a young child up to about age 7. The space A large arched doorway and roof lights let plenty of light into the open plan kitchen/dining /living area. The double bedroom, with en suite, is on the upper floor beyond the kitchen. The second bedroom (double/twin) is downstairs with bathroom. Many of the original timber beams have been retained or recycled to try and honour the heritage of this old building whilst ensuring that it is a comfortable, cosy space to spend time in. Guest access The cottage has its own outside sitting/eating area with a bench and table overlooking the fells.
