The Stonehouse is believed to be more than 200 years old and the story so far is that it was built on land called "Tal-Geblin" that in english means "Of Stone" and such land belonged to Catherina Cassar concubine to one of the Knights of Malta. The land was later bequeathed to the Order of the Carmelites of Mdina.
