Ideally suited for families, Jonathan is part of McBains lodge and sleeps FIVE with an extra-length queen-sized bed, a bunk bed (can be made into 2 singles), and a single bed in a spacious open-plan cabin with a couch and bar fridge provided for extra comfort. The space On it’s right flank is a private outdoor bath, ideal for watching the sun change colour at sunset against Deviation Buttress, the impressive mountain face that looks down on Jonathan cabin from across the Witte River (not 100m away). Jonathan Cabin is part of McBains Lodge and features an outdoor shower, bath and outdoor toilet, both a mere 10m away from the cabin entrance. Between the entrance area and private deck there is plenty space for a more private braai setup. The cabin itself is about 50m from the communal downstairs kitchen, deck, and hot tub - and so provides the perfect balance between those seeking privacy while also engaging with the whole space. Guest access We have permanent managerial staff (Lucky and Calven) at McBains. They will assist you with any offloading, and are available for advice on where to walk and what to do in the area. They work tirelessly to keep McBains a clean space. Please feel free to ask them for anything specific that you may need. Tipping (on departure) is at your discretion. There’s a ‘hamburger’ piggy bank for staff tips at reception. Other things to note We recommend bringing extra towels in summer, and extra blankets, hot water bottles, slippers, and even gowns in winter as you make yourself feel at home.
