Good to know, that we offer a large natural swimming pond with child's bath: no chlorine, no salt. Plants, planted in a separated part, purify the water, a real treat for your skin. 'Da Nonna' (at Granny's) is part of the 'casetta degli angeli' (angel's house), a modest villa located in a romantic private park of 2 ha.(5 acres) on a historical site, in (Etruscan) Central Italy. Because of its beauty the current owners named the site 'al settimo cielo' (in seventh heaven). The space al settimo cielo is 'the place to be' for people seeking for rest and peacefulness, an ideal place for nature lovers, writers, readers, composers, musicians, parents with (small) children. ‘Da Nonna’ (at Granny's) is a two to four persons lodging in a villa in romantic 2 ha.'s parc on a historical site. For 2 people it's a romantic lovenest, but it serves also for parents with children (one sleep is on the so called 'mezzanino'). ‘Da Nonna’ is furnished in a personal way with a mix of modern&vintage furniture. The art is for sale; so you may not have the same artworks as shown on the photo's. You will find music equipment and some cd's, but don't hesitate to bring your own music. Besides the central ( gas) heating, there is a wood stove. Wood can be provided. The bedrooms have 2 single beds, that can be turned into a double bed. One of the bed rooms is on the mezzanine. A child's bed is available on request. You'll find a modest bathroom with shower, toilet,bidet and wash basin. (Mostly liquid) soap and shampoo are available. The kitchen is well equipped: plenty of crockery. You don't need to go for shopping immediately after your arrival. You will find a basket with surprises to satisfy your first hunger and thurst. Basic ingredients like peper, salt, oil and vinegar are on hand. This is all free. You will find blankets+sheets on the beds; also towels are at disposal (incuded in the price). Only if you would like to get more sheets and towels than we make available, we will charge you extra. Hereunder you will find more about this. If you might need a large towel to lie on, please bring it yourself. Although it occurs very rarely, you might have neighbours, lodged in the next door lodging under the same roof. A private garden with plenty of garden furniture belongs to the apartments. Need space for more people? The adiacent Vista sul Mare might be available as well. In case you would rent also that, you will have 8 sleeps. Please get in touch if you would like to know more. Guest access From Nonna's garden: A private garden belongs to the 'casetta degli angeli'. If there are other guests you will have to share the garden, which is big enough not to hamper one another. You will find plenty of garden furniture. 'Da nonna' lies in a sun protected area of the parc, which is an advantage in the hot summer months. This does not mean that you cannot take a sun bath. You can choose sun or shadow in the apartment garden. Use of alsettimo cielo's parc: You may use the new natural swimming pond from 10.00 in the morning to 18.00 in the evening. Rarely you will have to share the pond with other guests. Apart from 'Da Nonna's' garden the entire parc is at disposal to dwell around, to enjoy the panorama's, to daydream, read and to watch the life in the several ponds. If you prefer to put a deckchair at the pond, go ahead; do you prefer a more uphill spot, it is also o.k. Just one piece of the parc is in use by the owners. They would appreciate if you would respect their privacy. This request doesn't mean that you couldn't enjoy the stunning views from the 'upper garden', a panorama of a fantastic landscape about 80 km's far! From there you can also see the famous cathedral of Orvieto as a major object in the surrounding landscape. Furthermore you will find some walls on the property consisting of 'sabbia di mare' (seasand); they are the relics of the glacial period, when this area used to be sea. You can find the tracks of the Etruscans who lived here 3000 years ago. The caves carved out by them, are still in use, for example as communal kitchen and a room for multiple use, like exhibitions, concerts, art studio etc. The parc has no neighbours. The nights are dark, the sky is full of stars. The deafening silence may even be frightening in the beginning! The only sounds that you will hear, are the sounds of nature. If you are lucky (and quiet enough) you will have a chance to see some wildlife like squirrels, porcupines, wild boars, fox and even a badger (of whom we think that he is living on the property). The site is perfect for relaxation, reading, thinking, dwelling around, playing and cooking together. The site inspires your creativity in a compelling way. If you are not yet a fine arts practitioner, your career will start here! The owners will gladly provide you fine arts materials and, upon request at your booking, an art teacher, if available. Price to be agreed in advance. The site is challenging for children's fantasy. There is a large natural swimming pond with a separated part for small children, a big swing, plenty material for building huts etc. Furtheron the kids will bring their fantasy, that will keep them busy. Other things to note We try to live as sustainable as possible. Water is the new gold of the world, specially in the mediterrenean countries. We expressively ask you to be mindful with water. If it might take long to get hot water for your shower, please don't let it stream away, but collect the water in a bucket and later use it to wash your vegetables and/or to water the plants outside. Please keep an eye on your children and tell them not to open the taps in the garden. Please take short showers and don't waste water. If the weather in July and August is very hot, we sometimes have to cope with a lack of water for the garden. So don't get upset if the grass isn't green. We try to prevent superfluous washing. Therefor we provide you of one set of towels and one set of bed linen per person per week. Our starting point is that your body is clean when you dry it and when you step into your bed. In case you would like to have more, we will charge you for it. NB. 1 In all seasons we charge for gas according to consumption and electricity 5,50 euro per day. NB.2 In case you would like to stay for longer than a holiday please get in touch.
