This is a clean, calm, tidy and spacious 4 bedroom home with one male occupant at the end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighbourhood. It is a 12 minute stroll from St. Neots bridge, less than 5 minutes walk from the bus stops for Cambridge and Oxford, 30 minutes walking from Wyboston Lakes and 20 minutes walking from Little End Road Industrial Area. The space The guest accommodation area has a lockable bedroom door and a separate lockable private bathroom. The beverage & food preparation area is in the corridor space between the bedroom and the bathroom. The entire guest area is separated from the rest of the upstairs by thick curtains, giving the feel of a small apartment - you have total privacy beyond those curtains. There is a fold-down table ideal for working and eating at. The room has a top-quality hypo-allergenic cushion-top Wheatcroft mattress which is topped with two mattress covers and a top-quality Egyptian cotton fitted sheet. This is not an old, worn out mattress on an even older bed. I spent £1000 on this mattress because, as a traveller myself, I am constantly irritated at staying in Airbnb's that buy the cheapest mattress and pillows available. Many guest reviews mention how comfortable this bed is, so that investment was worthwhile. The pillows are top-notch Snuggledown brand, covered with a pillow protector and Egyptian cotton pillow cases. The duvet cover is also Egyptian cotton. I alternate winter and summer duvets. The spacious bathroom has an invigorating power shower and fluffy white Egyptian cotton towels. Super fast wi-fi - 147mbps. Black-out blinds. Free off-road parking. After 11 years, this is by far the longest established room accommodation on Airbnb in the St Neots area. I have a review rating of 4.98 out of 5 from more than 160 reviews - the vast majority of other room-only Airbnb's in this area have fewer than 20 reviews. Guest access The food and drink preparation area contains: A toaster A kettle A microwave oven A mini fridge Drinking mugs Cutlery Cereal bowls Dinner plates Plastic drink cups Tea and coffee bags Sugar and sweeteners Paper kitchen roll. I do not supply milk as there are so many types nowadays. In the bathroom a brand new sponge/scourer, wiping cloth and dishcloth is supplied each time a guest arrives. There is also toilet cleaning liquid, bathroom cleaning spray liquid, bleach and washing-up liquid. It's ok - I do not expect you to clean the bathroom! However, many people, especially if staying for a week or more, do like to keep their bathroom clean. During your stay I am home most of the time and generally available to offer local advice. I have been an Airbnb host since 2015. The layout of the accommodation means that, other than on arrival, (unless you use the lockbox) the vast majority of guests come and go without seeing me at all. The only time we may randomly bump into each other is if we both happen to be entering and/or leaving the house or using the stairs at the same time. I get a lot of repeat visitors, so I hope part of this is connected to the privacy that guests enjoy here. I will not ambush you at the bottom of the stairs for a long, unnecessary chat about the weather! Other things to note If you, the Airbnb account holder are wanting to book on behalf of somebody else, please make this clear in your initial booking request and provide full details of who you would like to book for, and why they cannot open their own Airbnb account. I have very good reason to ask this. In the first months of hosting I accepted a booking which I did not realise at first, was not made by the person who was staying. He was an enormous Russian man, who did not speak a word of English and made me feel uncomfortable in my own home during his two week stay. A few hours after he left in left, the Police arrived mob handed in a marked car for all my neighbours to see, looking for him. I was given to understand that he was suspected of being involved in baby smuggling. That's not a good look in this quiet neighbourhood!
