Sweet Little Barn Annex

A private and rural location in the pretty village of Wedmore makes this the perfect location to explore the beautiful Somerset countryside and historic towns and villages in the area. Wedmore is situated on the edge of the Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels, and is close to three incredible nature reserves as well as Cheddar Gorge, Wells and Glastonbury. This is a great place for bird watchers and wildlife lovers, with excellent opportunities for walking and cycling right from the front door! The space Manor Barn Annex is located at the end of a secluded private lane, with no through road, and yet just a 300 yard walk from the centre of Wedmore’s thriving centre, with its general store, pharmacy, deli, cafes, boutiques, gift shops and friendly pubs. Manor Barn Annex is a small but completely self-contained ground floor apartment, adjoining Manor Barn (which is our family home). The whole building was once a barn, storing farm equipment and belonging to the Manor House (just behind us) It dates back to the 1800’s. It is now a delightful and charming holiday accommodation (for two adults only) with high beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors. The little kitchen is very well equipped with kettle, toaster, oven, slow cooker and all the usual equipment should you wish to cook your own meals. There is a small fold down table and 2 chairs for cosy breakfasts. The local village store is open from 5am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and until 2pm on Sunday and is just 5 minutes walk away! The double bedroom has lots of drawers and hanging space for your clothes. The standard size double divan bed is beautifully comfortable to ensure a restful nights sleep. All bedlinen and towels are included. The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, WC, basin, shaver point and heated towel rail. The lounge has plenty of seating, TV, DVD player and a selection of DVD’s, WiFi, a selection of games and books, as well as some information about the immediate area. There are double doors opening onto a sunny little patio (during the summer months) which face onto the lane, but still very private and peaceful. There’s a bench and little table for you to savour your morning coffee or of course a nice glass of wine at the end of a happy day!l Guest access The Annex is all on one level with no stairs, totally self-contained, with its own entrance and a designated parking space on our forecourt. Other things to note Please note that we cannot accommodate any pets or children and that the Annex is strictly non-smoking. Please know also, that St Mary’s Church is our immediate neighbour and the bell ringing is an integral part of village life! The village is mostly back to normal following Covid, although a few small businesses did close. If there are any specific places you want to visit, it would be wise to check their websites before arrival. I have provided plentiful cleaning products for guests to use, but please know the Annex will be cleaned to a very high standard before and after your stay. Charging of electric vehicles at the property is not permitted.
