Quiet and close to everything, our basement in-law suite is a short walk to Rock Creek Park bike trails into DC, and a quick bus ride to the MARC train and White Flint or Wheaton Red Line Metro stops. Quiet and close to everything, our basement in-law suite is a short walk to Rock Creek Park, and a quick bus or car ride to the MARC train and multiple red-line Metro stations (White Flint, Twinbrook, Wheaton and Glenmont are all a short 4-10 minute drive). Short drive to NIH and NSA Bethesda, Silver Springs, & Rockville, MD. This is a basement apartment in our home. It has it's own keyed private entrance from the side yard. Bedroom: You will have a queen size bed with a Serta foam mattress, a twin-sized daybed, with a second twin sized pull-out floor-level trundle bed. Plenty of outlets to recharge your electronics and use our high speed internet access. The internet is wireless and provides up to 150 Mbps download speed via 802.11ac wireless signal. Streaming tv via Amazon Fire TV hookup allows you to access Hulu, Netflix, and many other streaming networks to enjoy thousands of movies and tv shows. Kitchenette: Coffee maker with complimentary coffee, toaster, microwave, griddle, miniature conventional oven, 1.5 qt sized slow cooker, full-sized refrigerator, water filtered pitcher, ice trays, sink and cabinet space. Plates, bowls, silverware, cooking utensils, and glasses for four are also provided. NO STOVE OR OVEN AS APARTMENT IS IN BASEMENT. Bathroom: Full bathroom with walk in shower and a full size washer and dryer are yours to use. Please limit washer/dryer usage to two loads per 1 night of stay. If more laundry needs to be washed, there are coin laundromats nearby. We provide complimentary towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, some sundries, detergent, and dryer sheets. If you are staying more than four days we will need to use the laundry for our own clothes, but will make sure not to disturb you. There is free on street parking in front of the house. Free parking on the street, take the brick steps from the bottom of the driveway up to the house and the side entrance is all yours! Stairs lead down into your basement apartment. We have our laundry in the basement, which you can use for free (Please limit to 2 loads per 1 night of stay). The laundry room is a shared hallway so if your stay is longer than 4 days, we will need to wash our laundry. However, you will have all the privacy you need behind closed doors for the bedroom/kitchenette. Otherwise the basement is yours and we will not disturb you. We live in the house above and are available as needed, although we try and stay out of our guests' way as much as possible. I am always available via text/call and can assist in a matter of minutes most times A block from Rock Creek Park and its play areas, biking and hiking trails, and beautiful nature. Deer are commonly seen in this area (please do not feed them). Although we are very close to several major transportation arteries the park offers a buffer and the area is quiet and relaxed. The Red Line metro services this area, this line links popular locations such as Adams Morgan, Friendship Heights, Downtown, DuPont Circle, Gallery Place/Chinatown, Union Station, and Silver Spring. One easy connection to the Reagan National Airport too! We are one block from the Montgomery County Ride On bus route 38, .9 miles from the Garret Park MARC station (serviced by the 38 bus) and a 8 minute bus ride to the White Flint metro station. Ride On bus route 10 is .6 miles away. White Flint offers parking for $5.10 a day during the week and free on the weekends. Rockville Pike and Viers Mill are both about a mile away and you can be on the I-495 beltway in under ten minutes. Car services that are useful include Uber, Lyft, and Barwood Taxi. We are 12 miles driving distance from the Smithsonian/White House area of downtown DC for visiting tourists. If you don't have your own car, metro takes about 30 mins from our location (if we are home we are happy to drop you at the metro for a day of sightseeing). We are just 6 miles from downtown Silver Spring, including its shopping, movies, and music venues including the famous Fillmore and AFI theaters. The basement apartment has its own inside door which locks, but the bathroom is outside this door. The stairs to the basement have a rail, but the bathroom does not. Additionally, the home is on a ridge with a steep driveway from the street, or an outdoor cement staircase with railing, to the side door for access.
