Cozy Basement Guest Suite, Minutes to DC

Our home is in the safe and walkable Lyon Park neighborhood of Arlington, Va. Conveniently located near: -Clarendon & Court House metro stations -Arlington National Cemetery -Reagan National Airport -Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall -Ballston, Rosslyn, National Landing and Pentagon City areas of Arlington -National Cherry Blossom Festival Events We have street parking, are family & pet friendly (No guest charge for kids). Nearby restaurants and a corner market cover any necessities. The space VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!!!!!!!! L O W B A S E M E N T C E I L I N G S Be advised, our home was built in the 1920's resulting in very low basement ceilings. Specifically, the ceiling is 6’2” in most of the basement but the doorway to the bathroom is 5’8”. The actual bathroom ceiling is 5’11” and 6’2” because there is a step down between the toilet and sink. There is also one low ceiling beam between the kitchenette and living area which is 5’9”. It’s a pain but that’s how these old homes were built. If you are taller than average, this might not be the best place for you because we do not want anyone to get hurt. - private side entrance with smart lock access for guests. -space includes one private bedroom with a full size bed and smart tv. -separate living area with futon. -a very small bathroom with tight stand up shower. -convenience kitchen or kitchenette (no stove). The kitchen area includes the following: sink, mini-fridge, microwave, toaster oven, keurig coffee maker and electric kettle. Coffee, tea and snacks are provided. -The living room area has a futon and large screen smart tv, without cable. Our Home is Pet Friendly with a. Additional service fee of daily fee of $10 per pet. An additional charge of $100 will be applied for excessive pet hair or pet hair in bedding. Please see house rules for details. We have 2 small dogs and 2 school age children who wake early and are mostly in bed by 9pm. We do our best to ensure they are not running around on the main floor when you are sleeping, trying to rest or trying to work during normal hours. Please let us know immediately if there is any problem with noise and we will do our best to address it. That being said it’s an old house and we are a normal family living our normal life so sometimes it gets a little loud. Out of respect for our guests' privacy, we have no plans to enter the space while it is occupied unless absolutely necessary. We may ask to come down at some point to access our storage space and deep freezer. Guests are welcome to join us on the main floor while we are at home. The main floor will not be accessible and will remain locked if we are away from home. Guest access You will have private access to our entire basement area except for a small room used for storage. You will also have access to our laundry area on the main floor as needed, by request. Other things to note Very low ceilings and small bathroom. I want to reiterate the issue with the low ceilings and beams in the basement. If you are taller than average our home may not be a comfortable stay for you. Please see our space description for specific measurements. In the future, we hope to have the house raised but we are working with what we have for the moment. Also the shower and bathroom is smaller than usual.
