Central Location near Station & City Walls
Description
A 2 bedroom Victorian terrace on a quiet street with free parking, 100 metres from the city walls, perfect for exploring the beautiful city of York. Just a 5 minute walk from York station and a 3 minute walk to Micklegate Bar. Nearby is award winning Bishopthorpe Road with its lively community and parade of independent shops/cafes/restaurants. For those that enjoy the great outdoors Rowntree Park and riverside walks are close by. Just behind the house, a walkway to York Racecourse (20 minutes). Guest access With its central location our house is a home-from-home making it perfect for a relaxed city break. Step through the front door and into the cosy sitting room with its pretty fireplace, comfy sofa and arm chairs, smart TV, DVD player and a selection of DVDs, books and games. Off that is the spacious and fully equipped kitchen-diner with granite worktops, fridge, hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher. Beyond, there is a lobby which holds a washing machine and small freezer and then the fully tiled ground floor bathroom. The back door leads to a private, walled and sunny courtyard garden which is great for al fresco dining. Sleeping arrangements: two double bedrooms on the first floor. The main bedroom has a king-size bed and ensuite shower-room; the second bedroom has zip and link beds providing flexible sleeping arrangements so that two single beds or one king-size bed can be accommodated. Bed linen and towels are provided. Other things to note Parking: Street parking is available for one car only during your stay using our personal parking permit. This permit must be returned before guests check out. Please note that our street is quite narrow and we advise guests to park close to the kerb and ensure the wing mirror is pulled in. For additional cars, we suggest that guests use Nunnery Lane car park which is only 100metres from the house. There is some parking at the bottom of our street 6pm-8am Monday - Saturday and all day Sunday. However spaces are very limited. A welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits is provided. Our house is a traditional Victorian terrace so the staircase is steep and whilst hand rails are installed, nonetheless may be a challenge for the elderly or infirm.
