You will feel like you're in a private apartment; although it is not a separate unit of the building the space is on a separate floor than our living space and feels very private; almost like a studio without a full kitchen. We offer a Nespresso machine, tea kettle, refrigerator, microwave and toaster. We recommend you enjoy your coffee or breakfast while lounging in the sunny garden. You will also be within close walking distance of Cortland Ave. the core shopping/ eating area of Bernal Heights. Your room also includes a private bathroom that feels like a spa. The garden is incredibly relaxing. We think you will enjoy! It's not a private entry but you will feel very separated and can fully enjoy your privacy. As much as desired. We are home and available for advice on the area. We are local (currently having resided in SF for 13 years) so we can offer our favorite places to explore, eat, and take in the city. If you prefer privacy, you will hardly notice us as we live just upstairs and only interact with guests when they look for it. Bernal Heights is great for families and those looking for a peaceful yet fun side of San Francisco. Walking and public transit are easy, but this is still a quiet area where visitors can sit in the park and forget about being in a city at all. A quick but steep walk from the house will take you to one of the most spectacular views of the city from the top of Bernal Peak. We're also only 1.5 blocks from the restaurants, shops, and public transportation on Cortland. We can recommend our favorite bakery and dinner spots nearby. We are also very close to the Alemany Farmer's Market. It's the oldest market in California and is open every Saturday morning. We are family-friendly and Bernal Heights is the perfect place for families. Although we only allow 2 adults, we will allow additional guests if you have children. The room is quite large and easily accommodates room for a child. We offer a pack'n'play for tiny guests and we also have a little one of our own. Our Madeleine was born in July 2013. She is well behaved and we've never had guests complain of her noise. San Francisco is an amazing city and we really do hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Oh, and feel free to help yourself to the pears and lemons growing in the garden.
