The Hughes Family Farmhouse is situated among the rolling hills of the Palouse, surrounded by barley, wheat, and garbanzos. It is conveniently located just one mile off Highway 195, about ½ way between Spokane and Pullman. The Farm is a recognized WA State Centennial Farm. You’ll be staying in the homestead house where the Hughes family originally homesteaded the property in the mid-1800s. Steptoe Butte and Rosalia historic sites are within easy driving distance. The space The home has a large yard suitable for lawn games or just letting the kids run around. Three separate decks to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. BBQ/Grill available for guest use. Many birds, owls, magpies, pheasant, and redwing blackbirds frequent the yard and nearby fields, with moose wandering thru on occasion. The road is sparsely traveled and makes for a great walking route. The two-story, three bedroom house was extensively rebuilt in 2012 and has a kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and toaster; and laundry facilities. Guest access The entire house is available to you and your guests only. Other things to note NOTE: DOES NOT HAVE AIR-CONDITIONING Nights cool way down so house temperature can be regulated by opening the windows at night, and if necessary, closing curtains during the day.
