Our Waterfront Lakehouse escape is nestled in the East Texas Piney Woods- with a 92,000 acre waterfront view! Bald eagles nest and hunt just yards from our boathouse and our lake is a major migratory path for gulls, pelicans, hummingbirds and countless other birds. Fishing is abundant - right off our dock. We have an 11x40 large back porch and ample living space for several guests to stay comfortably. Fully stocked kitchen, three nicely decorated bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Our neighborhood is quiet and perfect for those seeking nature and a place to relax. We have the best view on the lake! What makes it unique is that it is located at the upper NorthWest corner of the lake and has wide open (unobstructed) views, incredible sunsets, migratory birds, lots of places to kayak, hike, bike, go for a run, snuggle up with a book, hang a hammock, enjoy nature! Since our home is fully furnished, you won't need to worry about much! Just bring your toothbrush! (But we do have extras!) We do have three TV's, an entire chest full of games and puzzles, a HUGE scrabble board and yard games like boccie and croquet. We have hammocks to hang and a fire pit in the back yard for s'mores. If you are a cook- you will find the kitchen well suited for cooking. Wi-Fi is also available. The entire house except the garage and master closet. No access to boat or jet ski. There is a two person kayak located on the boathouse and life vests for visitors use. We try and stay out of your hair! If you need us-we are just a phone call or text away. (Always available!) We are close friends with most of our neighbors who are also very helpful if you need them in an emergency. Our neighborhood is very quiet and full of nature. Our favorite activities are taking a walk, watching the sunrises with a cup of coffee on the back porch or the boathouse, watching our kids play in the backyard, bike rides, identifying migrating birds (we have many bird identification books in our home), cooking and relaxing. There are also two porch swings nestled in the trees on the front & back sides of the house. Sunsets are amazing on either side of the house! We also have a hammock that can be hung and enjoyed during your stay. You will need a car. This is a remote area located 8-10 miles from grocery stores and any major city infrastructure. There is a Dollar General just about a mile away which is convenient for last-minute necessities. We always say- "bring what you can't live without". We are located exactly 88 miles Northwest of Houston (city center) 20 miles From Huntsville and about 25 miles from the city of Livingston. ***Safety is our top priority. All guests should keep in mind that this is NOT the city! You swim at your own risk. Although we feel like our home is very accommodating and comfortable, there is a LOT of nature here. All children should be watched and kept safe while near the water. No jumping off of the sides of the boathouse or bulkhead. It goes without saying - ALWAYS watch your children and weak swimmers and wear a life vest if needed. **Quite often there will be fishing tournaments on our lake. It is not at all unusual to see fishermen in their boats very near boathouses. (Apparently in the heat of the summer fish like the shade- which boathouses provide) - this was unusual to us at first, but has become part of our lake experience and we usually just wave hello and go on about our business. It could catch you off guard if you aren't aware. :) *During certain times of the year- (like 4th of July) fireworks are sold locally. If you choose to purchase them, please know that you do this at your own risk. We also ask that you respect our neighbors and keep it safe and use only during reasonable hours.
