Located on the second floor of an authentic Auvergne habitat, built in lava stone and Volvic stone, this very nice studio has been completely renovated with care. It is located in the city center of Clermont-Ferrand, 450 m from Place de Jaude. This accommodation is fully equipped (air conditioning, WiFi, 160 cm queen size bed, sofa, Netflix, sheets, duvets, towels, dishes, SENSEO coffee maker, USB socket, shower gel). The space Access by a traditional spiral staircase (19th century), typical of the area, made of Volvic stone. The apartment is very bright with its 2 windows. It is equipped with a queen size bed. We'll be waiting for you at a convenient time between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. We are often on site and love to welcome guests: if our respective schedules allow, we will be happy to get to know you better and discuss the many things to do and see in the area. The accommodation is conveniently located in the city center of Clermont-Ferrand, offering you easy access to all shops, restaurants, tourist sites and public transport. Like any living city center, this location can be accompanied by a little ambient noise, especially during summer evenings or long weekends. It will depend on your sensitivity to noise: travelers accustomed to the urban atmosphere will feel quite comfortable there. For added comfort, the apartment is equipped with double glazing to limit noise pollution. During the summer, you can enjoy air conditioning. The entire building is under video surveillance. Guest access The apartment does not have a parking space, but parking is free from Rue Paul Diomède and Rue des Portes d'Argent (and the streets that follow), about 400 m away. There is also the Fontgiève parking lot in front of the soccer field 350 m from the apartment (5-minute walk) for €1.40 per day (10 hours, rechargeable by app). Parking is also free on Rue Fontgiève (in front of the apartment) from 7pm to 9am, Sundays and public holidays. It is cheaper in the streets around the Edgard Quinet school right next door. Saint-Pierre underground parking is within walking distance, but a little more expensive. The Gaillard tram station is a 3-minute walk from the apartment. Other things to note The Fontgiève neighborhood is located on the immediate outskirts of the historic center, which makes it an asset due to its proximity (Clermont City Hall is 500 m from the apartment). Built since Roman times, its name "Font Jievà" means "Jewish source/fountain", a fountain that is still located a stone's throw from the building. The district extends to Montjuzet where the inhabitants cultivated vines until the 1960s and which is today the largest landscaped park in Clermont-Ferrand. You can picnic there with great views of the city. There are shortcuts to get there which are explained in the welcome booklet. The neighborhood is lively and it's a good place to stay. Everything is available on site. Not far away is the old center of Saint Alyre where you will find a village atmosphere with its alleys and petrifying fountains (exploited until not so long ago). Due to the configuration of the building and apartment, you won't have the option to store bicycles. The entire building is under video surveillance.
