A-STRP-25-0670 The space Treat yourself to a stay at this fabulous Arts and Crafts cottage located on a property that is close to everything but feels a world away. Just off Highway 24 and bordering Manitou Springs, the spacious two bedroom cottage is outfitted with everything you need, including super comfy beds—one king, two twins and a daybed and trundle with tempurpedic mattresses that sleep 6 along with luxury bedding, a well stocked gourmet kitchen with plenty of coffee, pots and pans for cooking, spices, a small charcoal grill and other basics. We have a king sized bed plus two twins, a sofa and an airbed which can easily fit in the roomy living room area. Some toiletries including shampoo and conditioner, lotions and items you may have forgotten are provided as well. We are in a much beloved area of the popular "Westside," called Lennon Park. It is a quaint residential area located off Highway 24. The cottage sits on a 4 parcel lot. It has a wonderful large front porch and small well kept front and back yards. Huge elm trees surround the property, but stunning views of the mountains are everywhere. As close as it is to everything, you will feel a world away. It is great for romance, but also very family friendly. Everyone loves seeing the horses go by from Academy Stables, a long time family owned landmark of the area. There are some fabulous restaurant options within walking distance and we are happy to offer our recommendations. We have a great variety of established and new trendy restaurants and shops in our city. . Guest access Guests will have the entire place to themselves! Other things to note Please read below for our recommendations. We love Adam’s Mountain Cafe right around the corner with regular and vegan options, and handcrafted cocktails. We like Amanda’s Fonda for Mexican, also super close. Garden of the Gods Market and Café is one of our favorites, for grab and go, and sit down breakfast and lunch. Manitou Springs is so fun to explore. All shops and restaurants in Manitou Springs are locally owned and operated making shopping very unique. Bring an empty water bottle to try all the natural springs. The Penny Arcade (in downtown Manitou Springs) has lots of vintage games and kiddie rides that are sure to delight. The Buffalo Lodge (right across the street) has bike rentals, and always has something going on Friday and Saturday night in the summer months. Sometimes it’s a farmers’ market, or a band, or a fleet of locally owned food trucks, but whatever it is you are welcome to walk on property and enjoy! If you are a yoga enthusiast and love sitting in outdoor spring fed hot tubs, check out SunWater Spa which is close to the property. Glen Eyrie Castle, the home of Colorado Springs founder, General Palmer, is also a gorgeous property to explore. At the guard gate tell them you are going to the bookstore. Academy Riding stables is the place where all those horses going by the cottage on the way to Garden of the Gods are from. The Incline is a strenuous uphill hike that is popular. The Broadmoor Resort is the longest running five star resort in the country and about 15 minutes from the cottage. A walk around the lake at the Broadmoor or eating at one of their great restaurants is a real treat. They have complimentary valet parking. Seven Falls Park and Restaurant 1858 : Admission to the park is $14.00 and well worth it and the restaurant is absolutely top notch! Also, there is a really big zip line running through the park. You have to take a bus into the park from what looks like a horse riding stable area. Great fun for the kids is Cheyenne Mountain Zoo that has the largest herd of giraffes in the U.S., and you can feed them by hand from a platform! Or try a downtown restaurant like casual funky—and very local--Poor Richards for pizza, salads and healthy entrees and a good coffee and drink bar, the unique Rabbit Hole, plus established old world steakhouse The Famous and Mackenzie Chop House. So many others too. Great shopping downtown, in Old Colorado City and Manitou. And, of course, Garden of the Gods is just up the street along with the wonderful souvenirs shop around the corner! Hope these suggestions give you some ideas! Hikes: There are hikes all throughout Garden of the Gods which can be easily walked to the trailhead from where you will stay. About 15 minutes form you is Helen Hunt falls, and it is a fairly common tourist spot, but if you hike past it and keep going above it you’ll soon leave almost everybody behind in less than a mile out, and will feel very secluded in the Rockies. Seven Bridges is another favorite trail for the locals. The trail crosses over the Cheyenne creek seven times in about three miles. It’s very beautiful. The road between Helen Hunt Falls and Seven Bridges has many small parking areas with lots of local trailheads. Don’t do the ones that just meander next to the road. All the other ones are great! If you are feeling real adventurous you can start driving up the 24 towards the Rockies. There are lots of small mountain towns that are fun, like Woodland Park (20 minutes), Divide (30 minutes), and Florissant (35-40 minutes). Very close by to you is Manitou Springs. It’s an eclectic mountain town filled with interesting shops and people--and so fun to explore. Hope this all helps!
