With its own private enclosed garden and BBQ hut, it’s perfect for couples seeking peace, romance, or a true digital detox. Relax, enjoy the cosy log burner, take in the views, or spend evenings under the stars for a unique countryside retreat. The space 🌿 The Experience Perched high on the hillside, Crofters offers a true digital detox. With limited mobile signal and a secluded location overlooking our working farm, it’s the perfect place to switch off, reconnect with nature, and enjoy peaceful countryside life. 🔥 Inside the Hut While fully off-grid, the hut has all the cosy touches that make it feel like a home away from home. A comfortable double bed, blackout blinds, soft lighting, and a wood-burning stove keep you warm and relaxed. We provide charged LED lamps, logs, peat and fire lighters. a hospitality tray with tea, coffee, biscuits. bottled water, towels, and some games - everything you need for a comfortable stay while keeping you unplugged. 🚿 Facilities Being off-grid, there is no running water or electricity in the hut - but this enhances the digital detox experience. You’ll have: • Bottled water •Water canisters • LED lighting • Private flushing chemical toilet A hot shower, flushing toilet, and phone charging points are available at the main farmyard, just a short walk away. 🍴 Outdoor Space Enjoy your private enclosed garden with raised decking, seating, and a gas BBQ with all cooking utensils provided. It’s perfect for dining outdoors, relaxing, and taking in the panoramic views. On clear nights, watch the stars while enjoying the quiet serenity of the hillside. 🐑 The Farm Set on a working farm, Crofters is surrounded by sheep and cattle grazing nearby, giving a true rural experience. Handcrafted by a local joiner, the hut is designed to provide couples with privacy, comfort, and a unique countryside retreat. 🐾 Dogs Welcome One dog per stay is welcome (two depending on size - please message first). Dogs can roam in the enclosed garden but must be on a lead around the working farm. Please clean up after them. ❄️ Good to Know There is no fridge, but a cool box is available on request - please bring ice packs if needed. 🚗 Access Guests can drive directly to the hut, with on-site parking available. Guest access As you approach the farm, you can drive up the main farm track road to the top where the Shepherd Hut lays. Once there, car spaces are set especially for guests to leave their car for the duration of their stay. Other things to note As our Shepherd hut is totally secluded and off grid, there is No electricity or running water within the hut - no fridge available. But bottled water and water canisters are provided with running water taps on main farm yard at the toilet block. There are many chargeable lights, torches, and LED candles for the total glamping experience. Located in a central point at the toilet block, there is electricity sockets for the convenience of all guests to charge their devices. We offer a dog and child friendly environment by providing a private enclosed garden area. However, as we are a working farm, we advise that you supervise children and dogs at all times and have dogs on leads when exploring out of the private garden area for their safety and that of livestock. If BBQ gas canister is empty there is another gas cylinder provided which should be there next to the bbq for guests to change over if they require.
