Cozy 4-season Cabin on Pond - "East Cabin"

Take refuge in a cozy log cabin with abundant access to Vermont's Green Mountains and rolling foothills. A quick drive to Woodstock and Quechee, the cabin is located on quiet dirt road with beautiful south-facing views overlooking the town of South Royalton, just a mile away. Spring-fed pond is steps from the cabin, take a dip! Follow the trails through the woods and fields and enjoy this pristine piece of Vermont. The space Cozy cabin has everything you need for an escape to the mountains. Full kitchen, 3/4 bath, living room with gas fireplace for chilly nights and the winter season, Wifi equipped. Open air fire pit for star gazing, gas grill for cooking out, and outdoor seating for relaxing by the pond. Private and quiet location. Kitchen is complete with gas oven/stove, microwave, toaster, coffee/tea station, crock pot, and cookware - all you need is the ingredients! We supply olive oil, salt/pepper, ground coffee and filters, and a selection of teas. Spacious bathroom has stall shower and comes stocked with plenty of towels, shampoo/conditioner and bodywash. Handmade, organic herbal soap is available for purchase to take home with you after your visit. Living area is comfy with loveseat (with pull out bed) and recliner next to the fireplace. Grab a book and a blanket and enjoy a quiet evening by the fire. Note that TV does not stream, so bring a streaming device or your favorite DVDs. We offer an eclectic collection of DVDs. Bedroom is lofted, up a spiral staircase, with a great view from the bed! Built in drawers are available to keep your belongings tucked away. Sleep soundly in queen bed with all cotton sheets and plenty of warm blankets. Note: the spiral staircase is somewhat narrow. The cabin is located in a very quiet corner of the property, on a small but beautiful private pond. The pond is great for swimming in the summer months, and wildlife watching all year. Explore the trails that cross the property year round - bring your snowshoes or cross country skis in winter! Stargaze on clear nights at the fire pit, we provide first night's firewood. Guests staying during the summer and fall season will have the opportunity to share in our homestead's harvest. Free range eggs, fresh veggies, herbs and fruits, and pasture-raised chicken and beef available for pre-order. Come help with the harvest if you'd like to get your hands dirty! We strongly recommend AWD/4WD vehicles for visitors in the winter (Nov - Mar) and mud (Mar - April) seasons. The cabin is located .5mi up a private dirt road. We are pet friendly, and have some animal policies to keep everyone safe and happy. Animals must be crated if left in the cabin unattended for any amount of time. Animals must be kept on leash in the proximity of the cabin, as there are other dogs and farm animals on and neighboring the property, as well as wildlife in the woods (porcupines!). If animals are not prone to running off, you can be off leash on the trails. Please clean up after your pet outside to allow others to enjoy the surroundings without stinky boots. 2.5 hours from Boston and Hartford, the cabin is only 1.5 miles from the village of South Royalton, where you can find a great food market, several restaurants, coffee shop, shops, post office and outdoor seating. The area has many great farms to visit, great hiking trails, and the shops and restaurants of Woodstock, White River Junction, and Randolph are all only 25 minutes away. Small and very friendly Saskadena 6 ski hill is just 20 minutes away, a great place for winter sports. Clear your mind and reconnect with the beauty of the natural world and everything Vermont has to offer at the East Cabin. Guest access Whole cabin is for guest's exclusive use. Other things to note Cabin is located up a hill on a dirt road. 4WD is necessary, especially during winter months (November - March) and mud season (March-April). Spiral staircase up to lofted bedroom may be difficult for some guests to navigate.
