Take some time to relax, swim and sunbathe at our cozy waterfront cottage just 2 hours north-east of Toronto. This is your opportunity to get away from the everyday busy, stressful, noisy life of the city. At our cottage, you'll enjoy a traditional cottaging experience where you can unplug and spend your days lounging outside in the sun; swimming, canoeing and fishing. In the evenings you'll enjoy spectacular sunsets while you have a beer or two at the campfire and listen to the bullfrogs. Nestled on the shores of the Trent Severn Waterway (between Hastings and Healey Falls), it provides a touch of solitude away from the city. The front porch faces directly onto the water with a stunning view of a small and large island both surrounded by Canadian wetlands and home to 7 different species of turtles. This relaxing cottage is located on a quiet channel leading to the main channel. The water is clean, full of fish and the channel is fairly quiet. So, you can sip your favourite beverage on the porch or down on the waterfront while you watch the kids play and the boats cruise by. Make sure to take advantage of the paddle boat or canoe and take a tour around the island; the views are wonderful. Of course, if relaxing and tanning is more your style, grab a seat in a Muskoka chair and enjoy the warm sun with a good book. If you're a fisherman, you're in luck! The fishing is spectacular here in the Kawartha lakes, you could catch Smallmouth bass, Largemouth bass, Pike, Walleye, Crappie as well as other smaller fish such as Sunfish, Rock Bass and Bluegill. We'd love to see your pics! The LCBO, the beer store, and a grocery store are all just 10 minutes away (Havelock) and Churchkey brewery is a short drive away if you’re feeling thirsty (we recommend a growler on day one)! Travel to nearby Campbellford to load up on fresh bakery items at Doohers bakery, fresh cheese at Empire Cheese factory and a few treats at the worlds finest chocolate factory. While you hang out at the cottage you’ll have access to lots of books, board games and movies. You can BBQ outside or cook in the spacious kitchen. There’s a fire pit on the water where you can watch the stars and enjoy some marshmallows before bed. Our cozy waterfront cottage includes: - 3 Bedrooms (2 double, 1 queen) and with a pull out couch in the living room, can sleep 6-8 comfortably. - 1 full bathroom (lots of hot water) - All kitchen supplies and utensils (pots/pans, cutlery, dishes) - Coffee maker and Toaster - Barbecue and Fire Pit - TV, DVD player, Apple TV - Wifi - Microwave, Two Refrigerators - Paddle Boat - Canoe - Boat Dock (please contact Host if you plan to launch a boat for instructions) - Parking - High Chair available upon request - Crib available upon request - Playpen available upon request - Kids bikes - Linens and Towels provided - Dog bed available upon request - We also offer 2 adult stand up paddleboards for rent at an additional fee. We would ask that no pets be allowed on the furniture during your stay. Towels for showering are provided but please bring your own beach towels if you'd prefer something specifically for outside.
