The prefect place to connect with nature and leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated Take in a gorgeous sunset from the wraparound porch, watch the fog rise out of the valley from bed in the morning from our custom built curved windows, roast some marshmallows on a campfire, hike around the trails and you can even paddle around our pond in a canoe. Guest access You will have access to the entire cabin and the surrounding 60 acres, including our pond. Please do not enter any other buildings on the property. You have access to the firepit, cornhole boards and games, a wonderful big porch, swing, and the grill Great hiking trails throughout the property, as well as some fun sledding in the winter. Other things to note *PET POLICY -if interested in bringing your pet: You are liable for your pet at all times, and you are also responsible for damage, injury, or lost revenue that your pet may cause. -Pets should be clean, free of fleas, and brushed before arriving. This is especially important with long-haired dogs. -Crate when left unattended. Keep off couch! If your animal sleeps with you, you must bring your own cover to put over the bed that the pet will sleep on - Pick up and bag your pets' waste and dispose of - Animals may not be bathed inside the house as this clogs the drains. There is an outside hose you may use to rinse your pet off; please bring your own towels, as ours may not be used for pets. -The cabin surroundings can get muddy. Please try and wipe dogs' feet when coming inside to prevent muddy footprints. Do not use our towels for this. Not following these rules will result in an additional fee of $100 We do have coyotes down the hill. *UTV RENTAL Rent our UTV to explore the trails during your stay at the cabin! We have a 2021 John Deere Gator for rent during your stay at the cabin. We have 60 private acres with lots of trails to explore. The gator is a fun and exciting way to experience the forest. We will have the gator filled with fuel and ready. All we ask is that you treat the machine and the land with respect. The cost of the rental is $180 per day. There is also a contract/waiver we will email to you. It will need to be electronically signed and emailed back. * BIKES We have 6 regular bikes that are free to use for any guest. You can ride them on the network of trails we have at the cabin, or if you bring a bike rack (or a truck with a bed) you can take them to any of the amazing local bike trails. We highly recommend the @railstotrails located in downtown Franklin that are located right beside the beautiful Allegheny River and French Creek  *SUMMER CANOE/KAYAK/TUBING Come stay at a beautiful cabin in the woods and spend a day kayaking, canoeing, or tubing on the Allegheny River or French Creek. A memorable adventure that will get you back in touch with nature. Amazing views and wildlife along the Allegheny or a slightly smaller waterway, French Creek. After you book the cabin, shoot us a message and let us know you're interested in the canoe/kayak/tubing. We'll get you the number and you call to book your trip, we'll have them pick your party up at the cabin. There are many options of length, location, and equipment, so it's easier for you to book than us. They offer 2-person and 3-person canoes, sit-in and sit-on-top kayaks, as well as tandem kayaks. Recently added tubing on French Creek as well. Here's a couple of items you might want to bring along: Cooler for snacks and drinks Water shoes or old tennis shoes Sunscreen Hat and sunglasses Waterproof bag or dry sac Insect repellent Trash bag (you must practice Leave No Trace) Cell phone and watch Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. You may want to bring a change of clothes just in case. Trips run from mid April to mid-October weather depending. *HUNTING Just downhill of the cabin is State game lands no 39. It's the largest one in the state with over 10,000 acres. State game lands are most commonly associated with hunting, but in Pennsylvania, the existence of the PA state game lands provides benefits not just to hunters but to all outdoorsmen. While outdoorsmen can enjoy certain hunting and trapping privileges, they can also enjoy wildlife protection and viewing along with general recreational benefits, which are key to our scenic state. *WILDLIFE VIEWING Amazing wildlife viewing opportunities are available as a result of the measures the Pennsylvania Game Commission has taken to protect wildlife in the area. Bird watching is particularly exciting during migration and breeding seasons in Pennsylvania. There are more than 400 species of birds documented in the state, which is nearly half the known total of birds in North America as a whole. The bald eagle, a national favorite, is making a comeback in Pennsylvania. The chances of seeing a bald eagle in the wild are now greater than they have been in Pennsylvania for the past 100 years.
