Blackwood Bed and Breakfast at Sivani House

This self contained cottage is a traditional bed and breakfast. It combines the age old beauty of a Victorian home with modern amenities such as reverse cycle heating and cooling plus the quaint coziness of an open fire. It offers a spacious room with a private entrance in the centre of town. The space The BnB is a large and beautifully decorated room featuring a queen size bed and a new wood fire. There is also a sun filled sitting area that has beautiful views and is a cosy nock to watch a dvd or catch-up on some reading. There are many books to browse and cds to play. Or if you prefer, there is fireside sitting at a table which is perfect for a crossword or a jigsaw puzzle or even if you need to work. A large wardrobe with hangers and drawers, full length mirror and trunk to put suitcases on which means you can unpack and be comfortable. Guests may also relax on the east facing front verandah which offers shade in the heat of the day as well as enjoy the north facing garden which includes a 1/4 acre block next door that is ideal for picnics or lazing away sleepy days. The outside area is still being developed/renovated but is very enjoyable as is and wheelchair accessible. The ensuite has a large shower and toilet area and is fully wheelchair accessible. A kitchenette in a cupboard contains all that you would want for breakfast. There is a choice of cereals, baked beans, fruit, juice, choice of milk, sourdough bread, local honey and jams and of course Vegemite. A fridge, toaster, plunger coffee and kettle enable coffee and tea making as desired. There is no access to a kitchen nor cooking facilities. All dietary requirements can be catered for and Karen will take care of the dishes so you can relax. Lunch and dinner can also be catered for as well if you would like Karen to cook a delicious vegetarian meal (specialty is Indian) or there are a number of options in town for meals depending on the day. Guest access Guests have access to the BnB through a private entrance and also the large garden with a variety of sitting areas and stunning views. Car parking is out front or can be behind a gate if preferred. Guests are welcome to use the front verandah and enjoy a shady spot to watch the world go by or find a sunny spot in the garden. Other things to note Sivani House is in the middle of the Blackwood township. It was once a bank in the gold rush days and since then has been a boarding house, restaurant and bar and more recently an antique place. It was purchased by Karen early in 2015 and has now been renovated into a lovely Bed and Breakfast. There is also a Hat Shoppe that runs on the weekends from 11 am until 4pm from the same building. Many guests have enjoyed browsing and it can be opened for guests at anytime. The Blackwood Pub Hotel is over the road and offers great food and entertainment and is a lovely way to spend the evening if lazing in your room is not to your liking. A unique advantage to Blackwood BnB at Sivani House is that you are able to book a variety of natural health services. Blackwood is rich in natural therapists so in-house or local appointments can be arranged for a massage, tarot, crystal healing, naturopathy, reiki, kinesiology or forest therapy.
