The Chestnut Tree Room

Our eco-friendly, comfortable house is close to Verteuil Sur Charente. If you are looking for calm and nature to recharge your batteries, our house is ideal for that. In the middle of meadows and woods, with horses under the windows, you may surprise deer at the turn of the path. We will be happy to guide you and discuss the points of interest of our countryside whether you are a couple, solo traveler, business traveler or family with children. The space Our house has been completely renovated and clad, very economical, it is pleasant to live in. The wide openings let in natural light, you feel "inside/outside". The atmosphere is warm due to the presence of wood inside. It has several bedrooms that can accommodate children or other guests. We can also accommodate horses in a fenced park or in boxes. The environment encourages walking. Guest access Guests have a private room equipped with bathroom facilities, our living room and kitchen are available. Outside there is a private terrace and access to the surrounding park and woods is free, hiking trails are not lacking. During your stay I will of course be available for any advice on walks, local visits, itineraries, delivery of maps, good addresses, etc. Other things to note Our house is close to the Way of St. James, the village of Verteuil sur Charente where the castle is remarkable, Nanteuil en Vallée where there is a beautiful arboretum and an abbey open to visitors. A little further away, La Rochefoucauld and a castle to visit too. On site you can take the hiking trails on foot or by bike (small or large loop), observe the wildlife (deer, fox, wild boar), find mushrooms (in season). We can accommodate your horse(s) in our meadows if you come hiking in our countryside.
