We are not too far from Quechee and Woodstock, our vintage trailers are down across from each other next to our wildlife pond. Our property is a rural setting, we provide camp cooking amenities and a composting toilet outhouse. Get out and explore the Upper Valley, returning to the cozy 1955 El Rey trailer or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. @goodnightmoonvintage Looking for a warm and cozy space? We’ve got 2 fun vintage trailers down by the pond, each trailer has its own charcoal grill and fire pit, a set of very comfy Adirondack chairs and umbrella. Our property is heavily wooded and late spring through fall are great times to enjoy the outdoors. This trailer is not available for guests with pets. Please rent the El Rey instead. Camping with a trailer is a fun experience for the adventurous. We do NOT have a kitchen, there is a SHARED 3 burner gas stove in the yard and dishwashing sink with 5 gallon potable water containers. While we offer as many amenities as possible we do want our guests to realize this is a camping experience. The area down by the pond is truly a nature experience. Guests have seen a bear, porcupine, skunk, deer, raccoon as well as our Barred Owls, chipmunks and mink. Not to mention the frogs, salamanders and crayfish in the pond! Presently the swan paddle boat is grounded due to a lost plug. Our location in the woods is extremely dark at night and we are NOT conducive to late arrivals as a result. It makes for frustration for ourselves and you the guest. Please ensure that your arrival is no later than 630 pm. Check in first and then head out for dinner or sightseeing. We provide some basic pots and pans and BBQ utensils, a colander, knives, grater and hot pads. Feel free to bring your own specialty cookware to use as the pans are used over a hot grill flame. Each trailer has silverware, mugs, plates, bowls, a coffee maker and grinder, electric water kettle, salt and pepper, sugar and organic coffee beans, water pitcher and cutting board. Bring anything else that you want to add for your own comfort, such as a cooler and ice, flashlights and rain gear. There are many choices for dining in our area if you prefer to eat out. Our Curtis Wright is 73 years old and the El Rey is 64. Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows, awnings etc. that function according to their age and we will be upgrading them periodically. These are not new modern trailers and we think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy! The trailers are thoroughly cleaned for each guest but are vintage. They are not “perfect” but none of us will be at 73 and 64 years old!! Our sweet wildlife pond is pristine, spring fed, and has an abundance of wildlife in and around it. You may even see the Barred owls hunting for frogs. Swimming is allowed, Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off prior to swimming and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond. We rent either the 1955 El Rey or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. This listing is for the 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. Our other trailer is the El Rey, please see the second listing for it. You are welcome to build a fire in the fire pit and toast marshmallows or grill.... Kindling is available as fallen branches however for larger wood, please purchase locally for whatever you intend to use, or order from us. We do ask that you start your fire the old fashioned way and do NOT use gas, diesel etc. which will leech into the pond and harm our wildlife. We usually have wood on site for sale, advance request is much appreciated and please pay upon arrival with cash, $10 per bundle of logs. A bag of charcoal is $15. As we both work offsite we do request that you order wood early in the day and not at night after we have retired. Order preferably by 5 pm. Our wonderful resident bats do a great job at night clearing insects! Sit out by the pond and watch them arrive at dusk! Our Phoebe Flycatchers build their mud nests all over the property and have 2 baby bird hatchings usually by mid-summer. They help keep insects down as well. If it’s a clear night, the stars are usually amazing in the sky over the pond. We live up in the house and are available to you by text or phone call during reasonable hours. We prefer that you do contact us with your needs to ensure a great experience. For showers, guests can make the 5.7 mile drive down to Quechee State Park opening May 13 and pay a $4 day fee to use the solar showers which take quarters. The park closes October 16th this year, in the morning. If you reserve after that date there will not be showers available. We look forward to sharing our little slice of heaven with you. While we know that each customer’s expectation is subjective and very few will read the listing thoroughly before reserving, we feel that we offer a unique escape from the day to day norm. If you as a guest are less than content with any part of your experience, please inform us immediately WHILE you are here so we can make corrections! “Better to step out of your comfort zone, enjoy new experiences & not know what's coming your way, than stick to routines & be bored with the same end results.” ― April Mae Monterrosa Our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream is our second trailer available on our property. It’s a cozy 20 feet in length with a queen size bed, closet and front table and seating area. The trailer kitchen area has a counter however we prefer that guests cook outside due to propane concerns. We have outdoor seating around the fire pit. You may cook on a shared 3 burner propane stove or BBQ grill. Or start your fire in the pit and grill there. We provide our filtered well water in 5 gallon containers down at the camp. Included in your stay is whole bean coffee and cream(cream and assorted hot sauces, mustard and ketchup are in the shared refrigerator), a coffee maker and grinder, and organic tea bar. Also in cabinets in your trailer are an electric kettle, basic dishes, silverware, mugs, sugar, salt and pepper. You are responsible for cleaning up after yourselves and returning your dishes to your trailer. For chilly nights we have an electric heater in the camper and extra blankets. The Airstream has a small fan for when it’s warmer and AC. Quechee State Park about 5.7 miles away, has solar showers that take quarters and entry is $4 per day. The park closes on October 18 but we have well water for cooking and drinking. The composting outhouse has towels, tp, bug spray, cleanser, and a mop and broom for the camp if you wish to clean your trailer mid-stay. Help yourselves but please return to the outhouse after use. We do have Comcast WiFi and cell service here... The network and password are listed on our listing and also on a sign in the outhouse. Sometimes depending on your carrier and the weather, service can be impacted inside of our aluminum trailers. Just step outside and refresh to get your signal. You may or may not have service inside the trailer depending on the above mentioned aspects. Many of our guests say they are coming to “unplug” for their stay. IMPORTANT-PLEASE PLAN TO CHECK IN BETWEEN 3 and 6:30 pm. We understand that you may wish to arrive later at the end of your day, but this is NOT a location where we accommodate arrivals after dark. We need to show you the nuances of the trailers, cook station, composting outhouse and property. After checking in, you can head back out for dinner, shopping etc. as we are a mere 5 miles from Quechee. We further require that you communicate your arrival time no later that the day of so that we can greet you. We plan our day around your arrival and ask that you respect our time as well. All guests are asked to read our house manual on Airbnb so you are familiar with sensitive issues regarding safety requirements such as NO open flames in the trailer, no gas or diesel in our fire pit as it drains in rainy weather right into our wildlife pond, swimming rules , and electric use inside among other things. We also have specific clauses around professional photography use of our property that must be adhered to in advance. “Any photography done with our property must be for personal use only and not professional use nor intended for publication.” You must have advance (prior to booking) permission for professional photography which will also require a contract for fees and terms. We also must restrict the use of our property to registered guests only, not your friends. All guests swim and hike our property at their own risk. Swimming is only allowed during daylight hours. We are NOT a clothing optional space, please dress appropriately in swimwear. Thank you. We reserve the right to refuse service. We live on site and can assist with anything that you may need. Feel free to call me, I don’t see texts later in the evening, we are up in the house we are building. If you find yourselves with questions, we prefer that you contact us for help. It’s much better to ask for assistance in advance than be disappointed afterwards when a simple call might be all it takes for a resolve. We want you to have a great time in at our place! We are on a private road on a mountaintop so access is limited to just our guests and the occasional neighbor going past. Wildlife abounds, we do have deer, raptors, turkey, bear and occasionally moose. Our Phoebe Flycatchers nest and fledge in the summer annually and you might see the babies learning to fly. We hope our local Barred Owls will be regular visitors again this summer. We are on a dirt road after the town road ends. Quechee at Route 4 is approximately 4.5 miles away. Woodstock is 7.2 miles away. Cell service works at the property depending on your carrier. A car is necessary...The closest groceries are 5 miles away and there are restaurants in Quechee, Hartland and Woodstock. Quechee and Hartland also have laundry facilities. We have pretty strong WiFi and the password is available to confirmed guests. Please note that sometimes the metal nature of vintage trailers can impact WIFI so stepping outside might be necessary for the best signal. Please double check our location in advance, look at our arrival instructions on our Airbnb site and plan for your arrival. The Airbnb map is incorrect. We do not want guests disturbing our neighbors if they get lost in the area. It is the country and there are no street lights to see street signs and markers. I will send you visual marker instructions in advance of your arrival to assist in locating our property. Please be sure to follow those directions and watch for the indicators. We also have some terrific recommendations for local watering holes and eateries as well as for museums and shopping. We are off the main road a bit on dirt roads, approximately 5 miles to Quechee or 8 miles to Woodstock. During mud season or in heavy rain, 4 wheel drive is helpful. White River Junction is about 15 minutes away as are the larger towns of West Lebanon and Hanover New Hampshire. While it might feel wild and remote if you are a city person, it is very peaceful here. We are on site and available if you need us.
