Gallery of the Youth is an accommodation with contemporary art gallery. This building called "Kyo-machiya" which is traditional house style in Kyoto was built about 100 years ago. New exhibition is held exhibition twice a year. You can see and purchase art works. This house stands in Nishijin area. You can visit famous sights shown below. Kitanotenmangu(7minutes on foot) Kinkakuji Temple(10minutes on foot) Nijojo castle(15minutes by taxi) Arashiyama(15minutes by taxi) The space This accommodation was renovated with preserving traditional architectual style in Kyoto. On the first floor, there is a main entrance, a kitchen, a living room and a garden that is peculiar to the Kyo-machiya. On the second floor, there is a large bedroom, a toilet and a bathroom. Guest access Although the host resides in the neighboring house, the entrance is separated and there is no shared space. All main building spaces of Kyo-machiya can be used. Other things to note We have a ring video doorbell 4 installed at the entrance of our house for security purposes. Our house is an art gallery and accommodation. We are renovating old townya. From this, it is not suitable for a small child staying. If you really want to stay with your child, take responsibility on your own. In Kyoto city, the law for accommodation/lodging tax is now set, and all the guests staying at any type of accommodations in the city are asked to pay the fee. The law has been in effect as of October 2018, and here at Gallery of the Youth, we will ask our guests to pay the fee as well. The fee could be ranging from 200 yen to 1,000 yen per night for each guest, and will be charged separately from the whole room charges. As for the charging process, we will send out a request through Airbnb on 2 days prior to your arrival, and in the case of cancellation there will be a full refund on the fee. See the below for the details on the tax fee: ・ Below 20,000 yen/night for each guest­­ : 200 yen ・ Over 20,000 yen/night and below 50,000 yen/night for each guest : 500 yen ・ Over 100,000 yen/night for each guest : 1,000 yen Thank you for your cooperation and we will be looking forward to seeing you. Because the architectural style of the Kyo-machiya remains, there is a slightly tight stairway to the second floor. Please note that the bathroom is only on the 2nd floor Requests to change the stay date or number of guests two weeks prior to check-in will not be accepted.
