The Poterie

Originally a farmhouse, this property is situated in the peace and tranquillity of a secluded hamlet, yet still offers proximity (within 45 min drive) to the best beaches, Puy du Fou and other sites of the Vendee. It is an ideal place to recharge your batteries. You would have sole access to the whole property which boasts a large private garden with an orchard, swimming pool (not heated and therefore closed in winter months from mid September through till May), and BBQ facilities. The space This old farmhouse was bought in 1980. There were very few facilities, at that time the water supply came from the well. Since then the house has seen many improvements, the pottery was created in 1985 and has been out of use since 2011. We have had many happy times there over the years with friends and family and hope you might enjoy the peace of the Vendee countryside as much as we do. The house consists of four large double bedrooms, two bathrooms with a separate lavatory upstairs, living room with large open fireplace (bring your own wood for winter nights!), large entrance hall, and a well-equipped kitchen leading to the light and airy south-facing extension that overlooks the garden. The dining table can be extended to seat twelve people comfortably. There is also a downstairs utility room and lavatory. There is an outdoor bbq that works well but is very rustic (half a boiler!) so please do bring your own charcoal or wood for summer barbecues. Guest access The whole property including garden, pool, and the house will be for solely the guests to use Other things to note We are taking extra precautions in terms of hygiene due to the Covid 19 pandemic and there will be extra, throw-away mattress and cushion protectors (only temporarily as we are aware of the associated environmental damage) as well as extra time spent cleaning. For those in small groups or staying for a short amount of time, we can reduce the total price by 60 euros if you bring your own towels and linen. Whilst we encourage get togethers, this is a peaceful setting and would ask you to keep noise to a minimum from 10PM especially when outside as sound does travel to the neighbours very easily.
